Please join us on Zoom from 1:00-2:30pm EDT (UTC-4) on Friday, September 15th to hear some of what’s up and coming in Ancient Philosophy!

The Ancient Philosophy Society is holding a Zoom panel featuring graduate students working in ancient philosophy. Each participant will spend 10-15 minutes to present some of their current work, with time for Q&A after each presentation.

Topics include: Aristotle's teleology, recollection in Aristotle, weaving in Plato's Statesman, and the role of metaphor in philosophical thinking. Please see the attached flyer for more info.

Hello Ancient Philosophy Society Community,

Please join us for the 20th Annual Meeting of the Ancient Philosophy Society. The conference will take place by Zoom on June 10-12, running from 11:00am to 5:30pm Eastern Time. There will be a Social Hour from 5:45pm to 6:45pm after each day’s presentation. There is one Zoom link for each day of the conference. The conference is free and open to all.

This is a reminder for the panel “The Persistence of The Sophists,” being organized by Christopher Moore and the APS and taking place on Friday, May 14th at 11am Eastern Time. It looks to be an excellent event — slightly different format, but same basic idea: what are we to think about “the sophists” (the individuals, the movement, the concept) going forward?
