Rest in Peace, Wendell Berry (1934-2026)! The Kentucky-born author and agrarian whose poems, stories, novels and essays celebrated farming communities and warned of the excesses and misjudgments of an industrial, commercialized society, entered his eternal rest on August 31, 2026.

Pictured is a piece of "The Peace of Wild Things":
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.

Sign the pledge at igsol.net/vote
I pledge to:
• Vote with a well-formed conscience, seeking the common good…
• Make a plan for when, where, and how I will vote…
• Invite at least one other person to vote with me…
Whether I vote early, by mail, or on Election Day, I commit to showing up and helping others do the same, because our democracy is strongest when everyone is free to participate, every voice is heard, and every voter is treated with dignity.

We’re seeking 10,000 people to join us in committing to !
