Yesterday along with your district PTA, Community Behavioral Health and the Hope Center partnered up to collect donations from each school in the district. What an experience! With only one week of collecting, we had enough donations to fill a 10 foot U-Haul truck! Your donations are being processed by a Donation Center near the Hope Center. Once everything is sorted families will be taken to the Center to collect the much needed items given by you! We were overwhelmed with the response and can't thank you enough!

Although we are no longer collecting donations, they can still be given directly to Community Behavioral Health through the end of the year or directly to the Hope Center. There information has been provided below! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns and again, THANK YOU SO MUCH and Happy Holidays!

After watching the recent humanitarian crisis quickly unfold in Afghanistan, many members of the community have been searching for ways to help Afghan families who have resettled in northeast Ohio. Most have no connections in the area and will undoubtedly face challenges as they rebuild their lives in a new country.

The Community Behavioral Health Center, in Beachwood Ohio, has organized pro bono services. They are also working with Catholic Charities and the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants to help families with mental healthcare needs as well as learning daily life skills such as obtaining housing, enrolling children in school, registering for health insurance and using public transportation. In conjunction with the Community Behavioral Health Center, the District PTA Council has organized a clothing drive.

We are also asking that each PTA unit with clothing closets evaluate what you currently have. If you have any overage or items to spare, we urge you to consider donating them as well.

Drop off boxes are available at each school building to start collecting donations on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 through Tuesday, November 22, 2021. All items donated will be greatly appreciated.

Here are a few suggestions:

Coats
Winter clothing
Shoes and boots
Pots, pans and utensils
Bedding, blankets, pillows, towels
Baby products (diapers, formula, and baby wipes)Toiletries (soap, shampoo, feminine hygiene products)
