For the first time ever, SHED is hosting an online auction — and we’re inviting you to join the fun while supporting our work here in University City. The auction runs today through Sunday, May 31, at 8 p.m., and features three exciting “night out” experiences, including:

💛 A little overdue, but far too important not to share. Last month, SHED volunteers showed up in a big way for our Spring Work Days — and the impact was felt across the community.
Over the course of the weekend, 36 volunteers came together to serve six local homes by cleaning gutters, clearing yards and brush, and painting not one but TWO porches for a homeowner in need.

We’re especially grateful to the volunteer teams from Washington University in St. Louis, Grace United Methodist Church, Trinity Presbyterian Church, Refresh Community Church, as well as our board members, for rolling up their sleeves and making a difference.

These projects may seem simple, but they bring real relief and help homeowners maintain safe, cared-for properties. Thank you to everyone who gave their time, energy, and heart to help strengthen U-City.

🤝Please join us in welcoming Cleo Miller to the SHED Board of Directors! Cleo currently serves as a construction manager at McCormack Baron Companies and brings extensive experience leading housing and development projects across the St. Louis region. His previous leadership roles with St. Louis Equity Fund and Gardner Capital — along with his expertise in construction oversight and community-focused development — will help strengthen SHED’s mission to expand access to affordable housing in the 3rd Ward.

Cleo holds a B.S. in Construction Management from Minnesota State University, Mankato and an MBA in Marketing from Bellevue University.

We’re excited to have his leadership and passion guiding our work as SHED continues building a stronger U-City together.

💛 Tomorrow is — and you’ll likely hear from a lot of amazing organizations.

At SHED, we’re taking a different approach this year. We won’t be posting or emailing much tomorrow. Instead, we’re sharing a reminder today and giving you space to support the causes that matter most to you. We hope SHED is one of them.

Since 2009, SHED has helped University City residents tackle home maintenance projects that can quickly become overwhelming — from cleaning gutters and clearing brush to light painting and minor repairs. Today, that work continues to grow through affordable housing initiatives, homebuyer education, and workforce development opportunities for local students.
