The daffodil world has lost another great soul, Joe Hamm. Joe was awarded the American Daffodil Society Gold Medal in 2022. The Gold Medal is awarded to an individual deemed by the Honors Committee as being worthy of “recognition of creative work of a pre-eminent nature in the understanding and advancement of daffodils.”

In April of this year this tradition continued for the 130th Boston Marathon: Boston Marathon Daffodils

Volunteers in Boston are planting 40,000 daffodils, including at the Boston Marathon bombing memorial, as part of a tradition honoring resilience and remembrance.

Thanks to Kirby Fong for photographing the artistic designs at the 2026 ADS Convention held at the Chicago Botanic Garden! This was the overall winner, Cheesebourger Cheesebourger Cheesebourger – A three vase design. The Design Schedule and the designs were very creative based on the convention theme, Chicago Eats!
