The Alabama WIC Program has updated its income guidelines, which means more families may qualify for assistance. WIC provides healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and other valuable resources for eligible participants.

✨ Partnership and People Are Our Purpose ✨

Yesterday’s Community Baby Shower was an incredible success, and it would not have been possible without the dedication, heart, and teamwork of these three amazing women: Ms. JoAnn, Jordan, and Toya.

Their commitment behind and at the scenes ensured every detail was handled and every participant and partner felt welcomed and valued. Their work reflects the heart of CHOICE and demonstrates what happens when servant leaders come together around a common purpose.

As we reflect on the impact of the day, we are reminded that great leadership is never a one-person effort. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. taught us, “Everybody can be great because everybody can serve.” Great organizations are built when people work together, each carrying out their role with excellence and purpose.

We are deeply grateful for our workforce partner, UAB AmeriCorps and the Alabama-Tombigbee Regional Commission, for their continued investment in our community and their support of our mission.

Yesterday, we were honored to host
Sweet Home AlaBaby at the CHOICE Center in Uniontown for their inaugural Community Baby Shower.

Thank you for showing up, engaging, asking questions, and investing in yourselves and your growing families. Your presence made today’s event a success!

With more than 30 participants in attendance and 8 organizations, this event was about so much more than receiving resources—it was about education, empowerment, connection, and community.

Families had the opportunity to learn valuable information to support healthy pregnancies, infant care, and overall family well-being while connecting with others on similar journeys. Expecting mothers and caregivers left with cribs, clothing, diapers and other gifts and prizes provided by SweetHome AlaBaby and their friends. We also thank our community partner, Chef Robert Tabb for donating the luggage set. We also thank Dorothy Kountry Kitchen (Demetrius Banks) for partnering to help make food available.

Again, a special thank you to our partners, volunteers, presenters, and supporters who helped create an environment where families felt welcomed, encouraged, and celebrated.

Together, we are building stronger families, healthier communities, and brighter futures—one baby, one parent, and one family at a time.
