In 2004, a group of people from various churches in the surrounding communities of Hempstead, Roosevelt, and Uniondale participated in a spiritual pilgrimage to Ethiopia where churches and
monasteries were visited. While in Ethiopia, we were appalled by the serious health conditions resulting from the lack of clean water. Needless deaths occurred on a daily basis because of a need for clean water
and medical supplies. Upon our return to the United States, we realized our calling to take action. We were compelled to take steps to make a difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters in Ethiopia. We immediately contacted The World Vision, a renowned organization, known for its programs all over the world, who offered us guidance in establishing The Ethiopian Mission Network, Inc. Our primary focus has been to provide water, wells, and pumps to some of the most deprived areas in Ethiopia. However, our work has been expanded to address crisis situations in Kenya and Haiti.
