A beautiful moment with our sweet River. ❤️🐴

Dani captured this lovely photo of River enjoying a quiet moment by the pond, and I just had to share it.

With 54 acres of beautiful land, there are so many little places around the sanctuary that make me stop and appreciate how fortunate we all are to call this home.

Seeing River enjoying his surroundings, with his reflection in the water and the beautiful fall colors around him, is one of those moments.

A little introduction between friends! 🐶🐑❤️

During their recent visit, Grace brought Augie over to meet Gabriel and Phoenix, two of our sweet sheep!

I love watching animals meet one another, especially when they’re so different in size and species! 😂

Augie had quite a few new friends to meet during his time at Happy Tales, and Gabriel and Phoenix seemed pretty curious about their little visitor, too!

I mean, seriously! Look at that face, that little belly, and the way he’s snuggled up against his log, soaking up the sunshine!

He looks like he would be perfectly happy to have someone come over and give him a nice belly rub, doesn’t he?

Well, think again! 😂

As adorable and relaxed as he looks, the moment we get too close, he’s outta there!

So we’ll just admire all that cuteness from a distance and let him enjoy his afternoon in peace. ❤️

Trick or treat! 🎃🐴

Around here, nobody needs a costume to convince us they deserve a treat!

And while most of the world is celebrating with candy today, our residents have their own ideas about what makes a delicious Halloween snack. 😂🌿

Wishing everyone a fun and safe Halloween from all of us at Happy Tales!

And remember to save those uncarved, unpainted pumpkins! Some of our residents would be more than happy to help you dispose of them! 🎃❤️

It’s $5 Friday, and we’ve got a lot of hungry mouths to feed! 🐴❤️

This sweet face is just one of nearly 60 residents who count on us every single day.

With cooler weather settling in, we’re working hard to make sure everyone has plenty of hay, feed, and comfortable bedding for the months ahead.

Our hay alone can cost thousands of dollars to restock, and with so many animals depending on us, those expenses add up quickly.

That’s why we love $5 Friday. It gives everyone an opportunity to make a difference, even with just a few dollars.

If 20 people donated $5 today, that would be $100 toward keeping our residents fed and cared for!

When you’re just trying to enjoy a good roll in the hay and suddenly realize you have an audience! 😂🐶🐐

I would absolutely love to know what was going through Edwin’s mind!

The look of complete confusion while Lady is having the time of her life is priceless.

Life at Happy Tales is never short on entertainment, and sometimes all you can do is stand back, watch, and laugh. ❤️

It’s hard to go anywhere around here without an entourage! 😂🐐

Dani had quite the following the other day, so naturally, she had to stop and capture a selfie with her little fan club!

One of the things I love about our goats is how social they are. They’re always curious about what we’re doing and more than happy to tag along, especially if there’s a chance of getting some attention or a snack!

Of course, with these guys following you around, there’s never a dull moment and personal space is pretty much nonexistent! 😂❤️

We had two of my favorite visitors this past week! ❤️🐾

Grace and her adorable pup Augie came to spend some time volunteering and hanging out at the sanctuary, and I couldn’t have enjoyed their company more!

I first met Grace when she was just 6 or 7 years old, when she attended Animal Experiences through her school’s afterschool program. She’s been part of our Happy Tales family ever since, and it’s been such a joy watching her grow up over the years. ❤️

Thank you, Grace, for all of your help and your amazing company, and thank you, Augie, for being ridiculously adorable! 😂🐶

I loved having you both here, miss you already, and can’t wait for your next visit! Love you guys! ❤️

Koda (aka Twinkle Toes) has been enjoying some delicious pumpkin, courtesy of his favorite little person, Josephine!

These two have such a sweet friendship, and Josie always makes sure her little buddy knows how loved he is. ❤️

Trying to take a selfie at Happy Tales is always an adventure.

Our residents have absolutely no problem inserting themselves into the picture, especially when they believe they should be the center of attention.

And really, with a face like that, who could argue?
