💙 We made a special delivery yesterday!

The Happy Tales Animal Sanctuary Coloring Book is now available at Cherry Mountain Farm! 🎉

We had such a wonderful time visiting this beautiful farm, meeting the kind people who keep it running, and spending time with the animals who call Cherry Mountain home.

Their store is full of charming finds, local goodies, and now… a few familiar sanctuary faces ready to be colored. 🐴🐷🐑

🩵 Just two horses enjoying a summer afternoon at the creek.

No rush.

No agenda.

Just cool water, green pastures, and the simple joy of being exactly where you’re meant to be.

Moments like these are easy to overlook when there’s always another chore waiting, but they’re some of our favorites.

A quiet reminder that sometimes the best thing you can do is slow down and enjoy the view. 🐴☀️

🌻 Our first sunflower bloomed this weekend.

It’s not the biggest sunflower.

Or the tallest.

But after planting tiny seedlings and waiting patiently, seeing that first bright yellow bloom feels pretty special.

The sanctuary is full of reminders that good things take time.

Sometimes it’s trust.

Sometimes it’s healing.

And sometimes it’s a sunflower opening up to greet the morning.

Here’s to small beginnings and beautiful things still to come. 💛

🦚 Well… this was unexpected.

There is a peacock that roams our neighborhood. Everyone assumes he belongs to us, but he doesn’t.

In fact, until this week, we’d never even seen him.

We’ve heard him plenty.

We’ve heard stories about him.

But we’d never actually met him.

Apparently, he decided it was finally time to visit the sanctuary.

Spartan wasn’t quite sure what to make of this unexpected guest in his paddock. 🫏😂

To be fair, if a bright blue peacock suddenly showed up in your yard, you might stare too.

Welcome to sanctuary life, where you never really know who’s going to stop by.

🌷 It’s $5 Friday, and Tulip wanted to make sure nobody forgot.

Caring for animals at the sanctuary means feed, hay, supplements, farrier care, veterinary care, and all the everyday things that keep everyone healthy and comfortable.

Recently, support has been a little slower than usual, but the needs of the animals never slow down.

If a handful of people gave $5 today, it would add up quickly and help us continue providing the care our residents depend on every day.

✨ Not everyone at the sanctuary has hooves.

This sweet face belongs to Inka, our kinkajou.

Kinkajous are sometimes called “honey bears,” though they’re actually more closely related to raccoons than bears.

Inka has been charming people for years with those curious eyes and that impossibly cute face.

Honestly, we’re not sure how anyone gets anything done around her.

💙 Meet Sweet Pea.

Sweet Pea spends her days grazing with Lily, Petunia, Sid, and the mules, keeping up with all the important pasture business and making sure nobody forgets snack time.

Here’s a fun fact:

Our veterinarian told us that our four cows are some of the oldest cows he’s ever worked with.

One of the things we love most about sanctuary life is watching animals grow old.

Animals who might never have had the chance to reach their golden years are given exactly that opportunity.

And Sweet Pea is a beautiful reminder of just how special those years can be. 💛
