Monday Munchies -

Sometimes (maybe a lot of the times) we need quick and easy meals to whip up. When we remember we just need a starch, protein and veggies we can do lots of variations. This one here is tofu, potatoes and broccoli cooked up in my air fryer. Then just add your favorite sauce or seasonings for flavor.

Hi Friends, Phoenix here 👋 This is my week in the spotlight so I’m going to share a bit about me ✨

I joined my forever flock family in 2020 at THS. I was shipped as a “free gift” with 3 other chicks, and the people who opened up their surprise gift couldn’t keep us due to zoning restrictions. Companies using living beings as “free gifts” are generally not the most caring, and obviously they had no care where I ended up. I have been at THS since I was a teeny fluffball, and now I live within a rooster flock with rooster friends.

I love snuggles and cuddles from my human friends, so don’t try coming into my space without picking me up for cuddles! I love blueberries, popcorn, and blackberries as snacks.

*Roosters suffer from a horrible stigma surrounding them that they are violent and aggressive, which is just not the truth. Roosters are excellent protectors of their flocks and friends, which can be misunderstood as “being mean”, but they are just doing what they know to do best, being the good gentlemen they are to their families. Roosters are emotionally complex animals, who have a huge range of interesting personalities. Many roosters love snuggles, and all offer the families that they trust with a loyalty that outlasts time itself. Roosters keep the peace within their family flocks, breaking up fights between their friends, while making sure no one gets hurt. Roosters make amazing companions, and we wish everyone had the pleasure of knowing a rooster friend!*

Thank you for your ongoing love and support for THS 🤍🐓

Hi friends, Betsy here 👋 This is my week in the spotlight so I’m going to share a bit about me ✨

I joined my forever flock family in 2017 at THS. I came from a backyard hobby farmer that no longer wanted their hens, as their egg production slowed down significantly.

I enjoy spending my time dust bathing, hanging out with my friends, and talking - always talking! I would be the old lady that screams “get off my lawn!” 😆

I love sunflower seeds, blueberries and popcorn snacks. Thanks for your continued love and support of THS 🤍

*Once hens reach about the age of two, their bodies are no longer able to keep up with the daily egg production. Chickens have been selectively bred over hundreds of years to lay eggs daily or almost daily. This is not normal for any species, as egg laying naturally would be for reproduction of their species, not for human consumption. Because humans have done this, many, if not most, hens will suffer from reproductive diseases. We do not eat or sell eggs at Tiny Hooves Sanctuary, and in fact we feed their eggs right back to the hens to replace their iron, protein, and calcium that their entire body put into the creation of that egg.*
