A diploma changed Hendrik's future. Jesus changed his eternity.

More than ten years ago, Hendrik's mom gave him a Shepherds College wristband and said, "When school gets hard, look at this wristband and remember that college could be in your future."

That dream became reality.

Over the past three years, Hendrik has grown in confidence, independence, vocational skills, and—most importantly—in his relationship with Jesus. Just weeks before graduating, he publicly declared his faith through baptism.

Before crossing the stage, the Shepherds College Class of 2026 gathered with family, friends, faculty, and staff for a special Graduation Dinner – a time to reflect on the journey, celebrate accomplishments, and look ahead to the future.

The evening was filled with laughter, stories, gratitude, and unforgettable moments as we honored the hard work, perseverance, and growth of this remarkable class.

For many students, Shepherds College has been a place to grow in faith, develop life skills, build lasting friendships, and discover new confidence and independence. Graduation Dinner was a beautiful reminder of just how far they've come.

This morning, Shepherds College students, alumni, and staff began their journey to Belém, Brazil, where they will serve alongside Joni & Friends and families impacted by disability over the next 10 days.

Before departing, we gathered to pray over the team—asking God to provide safe travels, meaningful relationships, opportunities to serve, and lives transformed through the love of Christ.

🎓 Ready to take the next step toward Fall 2026?

Shepherds College Tennessee is hosting two upcoming Student Assessment Days in Franklin, TN for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are interested in joining our inaugural Tennessee class.

Our assessment process is designed to be encouraging, welcoming, and low-pressure. This is an opportunity for students to meet our team, participate in a brief academic assessment, engage in a social activity, and help us better understand their unique strengths, learning style, and support needs.

At the same time, parents will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with our team and learn more about Shepherds College Tennessee, including our program model, student support services, admissions process, and what makes the Shepherds College experience unique.

Over three incredible days in Franklin, TN, students with intellectual and developmental disabilities came together to experience community, build friendships, explore new opportunities, and discover what's possible through Shepherds College Tennessee.

From group activities and hands-on learning to shared adventures and lots of fun, these photos capture just a glimpse of the excitement and joy that filled every day of the Shepherds College Preview Experience.

🎉 What a week it's been so far at Shepherds College! 🎉

We're only two days into SCPE and First Flight, and our campus is already filled with excitement, laughter, new experiences, and plenty of memorable moments.

Students are spending the week exploring campus, trying new activities, discovering their strengths, forming new friendships, and getting a taste of what life at Shepherds College is all about.

From friendly competition and hands-on learning to campus adventures and shared experiences, it's been amazing to watch students step outside their comfort zones, embrace new opportunities, and create lasting memories.

This week is a wonderful reminder of the impact that a supportive, Christ-centered community can have on young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
