Celebrate Shepherd’s College Week June 1st through the 7th!

Good evening everyone,

On behalf of the Village of Union Grove, it is my honor to proclaim Shepherds College Week and celebrate the incredible students, graduates, families, staff, and supporters who make Shepherds College such an important part of our community.

Graduation is always a special milestone. It represents hard work, determination, growth, and perseverance. For the students of Shepherds College, it also represents courage, the courage to learn, to try, to overcome challenges, and to step forward into the next chapter of life with confidence.

Here in Union Grove, we are proud to be home to Shepherds College. Your students remind us what dedication looks like. Your staff and families remind us what encouragement, patience, and belief can accomplish. And your graduates remind us that every person has gifts, purpose, and value.

To the graduates: congratulations. You have earned this moment. Your community is proud of you, we are cheering for you, and we cannot wait to see what you do next.

Therefore, as Village President, I am proud to recognize this week as Shepherds College Week in the Village of Union Grove and ask our community to join me in celebrating these hardworking students and their achievements.

Today, we had the opportunity to celebrate Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month through food, culture, and storytelling 🌏❤️

Our student-led Asian American Pacific Islander group thoughtfully selected today’s lunch menu featuring Mongolian beef, chicken curry, rice, vegetable stir-fry, and almond Jell-O. Students also shared about the countries they are from, their cultures, and personal backgrounds creating a meaningful opportunity to learn from and celebrate one another.

We are grateful for the unique stories, traditions, and perspectives that make our Shepherds College community so special.

Every year, Shepherds College students, staff, and alumni have the opportunity to serve families living with disability in Brazil through Joni & Friends—using their God-given abilities to encourage, support, and build meaningful relationships. From serving as buddies at an International Family Retreat to helping expand disability education, this trip creates an impact that lasts far beyond 10 days.

This June, we’re heading back to Brazil—and thanks to generous supporters, we’ve already made incredible progress. We only have $33,700 left to raise to make this mission possible.
