We're excited to share that Lauren Hickman, Director of On & For a Purpose (O4P) Ministry Partnerships, will be representing Shepherds Ministries at the 2026 Special Needs & Disability Metro Conference in Plano, Texas!

This gathering brings together church leaders, ministry staff, volunteers, and families who share a passion for creating welcoming, inclusive church communities where individuals with disabilities can grow, connect, and thrive.

As the Director of On and For a Purpose (O4P) Ministry Partnerships at Shepherds Ministries, Lauren travels across the country connecting with churches, building relationships, and sharing an exciting vision for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

And she may be coming to a town near YOU! 🚗

After years of planning, developing, and praying, On and For a Purpose (O4P) is now in its full launch!

This Christ-centered ministry equips churches to create meaningful discipleship opportunities for adults with IDD – helping individuals:

💙🧡 FAMILY WEEKEND AT SHEPHERDS COLLEGE – SO MUCH LOVE, SO MANY MEMORIES! 🎓❤️

There’s just something special about having our Shepherds College family together!

This past weekend, our Wisconsin campus was filled with moms, dads, grandparents, siblings, friends, and loved ones who came to celebrate the students who mean so much to all of us.

And what a weekend it was! 💙

There was basketball, volleyball, bowling, crafts, campus tours, and plenty of laughter! Families enjoyed coffee served by Community State Bank, a delicious picnic lunch provided by Chick-fil-A, a wonderful dinner at Michael's on the Lake, sweet treats from the Community State Bank Cruiser, and fantastic music from the J Ryan Trio! 🎶

But as wonderful as all those activities were, the best part wasn't what we did. It was who we shared it with.

The hugs. The smiles. The conversations. The laughter. The joy of being together.

It was watching students proudly share their college experience with the people who have loved, encouraged, and supported them every step of the way.

At Shepherds College, we talk about growing in confidence, developing independence, and discovering God-given purpose. Family Weekend was a beautiful reminder that behind every student is a circle of people who believe in them, pray for them, and celebrate every step forward.
