41,000 Americans die every year from gun violence - an average of
more than 110 per day. Fi****ms are now the leading cause of
death for children in the United States. Each precious life lost
wounds families, friends, communities, and our nation.
We will gather to honor all victims and survivors of gun violence and
vow to turn our grief into action to end this national epidemic.

DEMAND a BAN on ASSAULT WEAPONS!

Buffalo. Uvalde. Highland Park. Odessa. Dayton. Aurora. Parkland.
Poway. Orlando. Las Vegas. Tree of Life Synagogue. Sandy Hook.
Charleston. Waffle House. San Bernardino.

Some of the deadliest mass shootings in America have one thing in common:

The shooter used an AR-15-style weapon.

Assault weapons are the weapon of choice for mass shooters in America because they are uniquely lethal,
designed to kill as many people as possible, as quickly as possible.

Banning assault weapons saves lives.

During the federal ban from 1994-2004, Americans saw a 37% decline in gun massacres and a 70% decline in assault weapons traced to crimes.

Congress let the ban expire in 2004, due to NRA influence, and mass shooting deaths have increased by 347%!

U.S. House Bill HR 1808 would ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.

We only need six more representatives to cosponsor it. Let’s ban these weapons NOW!

“If we want our laws to change, we need to elect people willing to change them.”

Description:
We live in a multireligious society and world. And yet, people of different faiths are too often marginalized, excluded, and even attacked for their beliefs, appearances, and identities. How can religion serve to foster interfaith harmony, peace, and fellowship? And how can we begin to see ourselves in people of other faiths, while also recognizing that they have their own unique perspectives and challenges? Explore these questions with an interfaith panel consisting of Bahai, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, and Sikh speakers. In 2010 the United Nations established “World Interfaith Harmony Week” to promote harmony between people regardless of their faith.

Panelists:
Bahai American: Robert Hoffman
Buddhist American: Shari Gent
Christian American: Katy Dickinson
Hindu American: Madhu Kopalle
Jewish American: Karen Stiller
Muslim American: Maha Elgenaidi
Sikh American: Gary Singh
Facilitator: Zachary Markwith

Salaam

In this blessed 4th Ashra of Ramadan, can I count on you for 1 grocery bag to assist the economically disadvantaged families facing food insecurity in the Alameda County?

Please do share within your network so they can also earn reward by donating 1 grocery bag as sadaqa.

Jazak Allah Khair,
Naseer

For just a dollar a day this Ramadan, you can help fund more than two grocery bags, delivered directly to underserved families.

We Are One rally: Climate Justice.

🌎 Thursday, September 26th, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.

at the corner of Paseo Padre & Walnut.

WE ARE ONE Rally: "Climate Justice."

When the Arctic and the Amazon are literally on fire, it doesn't take a climate scientist to understand we can't continue down the same path.

We can't continue powering the world with fossil fuels.

We can't keep doing nothing. But we can change course!

We stand in support of the Global Climate Strikers calling us to take action to make this a turning point in history.

Our house is on fire - Let's act like it!

We demand climate justice for everyone.

Hope to see you there!
