WE Advocate, Inc, formerly known as Greater Giving Ministries, is a 501c3 nonprofit community service organization that aids in providing resources to impoverished youth. With my efforts to fight childhood hunger, Greater Giving was created to respond to a need within my classroom in the Atlanta Public School System. For two of those years consecutively, Publix has donated to “Ms. Wright’s Class F
ood Drive” at the Woodson Elementary School location. Students were not eating once leaving school for the day, over weekends away from the school, and during school breaks and holidays. I began to stock my cabinets with foods and healthy snacks to send home with those students. I began to order pizzas at the end of the school day to feed them to lessen their hunger once returning home. Now that I am no longer with the school system I would like to continue those efforts. In doing so, this year I have teamed up with several community service organizations to achieve a greater goal. As a collaborative team, our goal is to service approximately 100 children and their families, as well as 50 seniors in the community. At this very exigent time in life, we feel the need to help those individuals during the holidays. In order for it to be a success, we need as many of our corporate sponsors, our neighborhood businesses, and our friends to get involved. We understand the challenges that our society are experiencing and we as a team would very much like to aid in providing nutritious meals for our families. We continue our efforts during Christmas as we collect toys for 150 kids and provide a hot breakfast for them at pickup!
