🎁 🎄 Christmas Came Early 🌟🎁
Exciting news that has been a long time in the making! We’ve completed our new weight room and resilience training area for youth in detention at Highlands Facility in New York!
The fitness room opening was made even more special with NFL wide receivers Darius Slayton and Isaiah Hodgins joining our Executive Director, , for some of the first official workouts in the space. This room will strengthen not only the physical side of the young people we serve but also their mental and spiritual development. Its use is tied to the career and technical education offered through the Work Education Program with the New York Department of Corrections, a partnership that has shown real success in helping youth reintegrate, reduce recidivism, and gain meaningful employment after release.
After the workouts, the youth were able to sit down with our guests as well as administration and have real conversations about the mental and spiritual aspects of sustaining resilience and change upon release! It was truly an amazing day of giving Hope for these young men's Future!
A huge thanks to Director Moreno for piloting this program at the Highland Residential Center in New York. We’re also grateful for the staff and directors who worked tirelessly to build the space and invest in the young people. And thank you to the New York Department of Corrections and the New York Office of Youth and Family Services for their support.
None of this would be possible without the continued support of you, are amazing sponsors and donors!
