A 501(c)(3) nonprofit horse and cat rescue established to honor the memory of a racehorse named Foxie G.

Horses Helping People Center offering equine-assisted therapy coming in 2026! On September 14, 2012, The Foxie G Foundation was established to honor the memory and enjoyment of life of a phenomenal racehorse named Foxie G. This 501(c)(3) corporation provides rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming for Thoroughbreds, whether off the track or not. Through a permanent retirement and adoption program these horses are given the opportunity to find new homes and often a new career. In addition to the horses, felines could not be forgotten. The need for low cost spay/neuter, TNR and adoption programs has increased substantially with the economy and rise in outdoor and feral cat populations. Through public education, affordable veterinary services and matching cats and kittens with forever homes, The Foxie G Foundation can have a direct hand in offering a positive solution to a rapidly growing issue.

PRESS RELEASE: Ribbon Cutting to Mark the Official Opening of the Newby Horses Helping People Center

The Foxie G Foundation will celebrate the official opening of its Newby Horses Helping People Center with a ribbon-cutting at the Foundation’s farm in Union Bridge, Maryland, on October 11, 2026.

The Center expands The Foxie G Foundation’s mission to help both animals and people by providing ground-based equine-assisted therapy and learning programs that support emotional growth, physical activity, confidence, and positive social engagement.

Programs will serve veterans, first responders, at-risk youth, individuals living with Parkinson’s disease or
dementia, and their caregivers — populations that may face significant barriers to accessing specialized
therapeutic and supportive services.

This event is invitation only, but we welcome individuals from the communities we will serve to attend. Please message our page or email [email protected] to RSVP.

There are moments when no single word can capture what it feels like to watch an idea become a plan, a plan become a purpose, and a purpose finally become reality.

That is exactly what happened on Friday, September 25, when we welcomed our very first class to the Newby Horses Helping People Center.

Four organizations, 14 veterans, 10 support staff, and the entire Foxie G team came together with one shared purpose: to give veterans a day to reconnect, reflect, and discover a path forward.

There is something incredibly powerful about standing in a field with a horse—an animal that doesn’t have to give you the time of day, yet chooses to walk over, nuzzle your hand, or simply stand quietly beside you. There are no expectations and no judgment. Just a quiet connection that can reach a place within you that is difficult to find anywhere else.

That connection is at the heart of what we hope to provide through our ground-based equine-assisted therapy program. We are incredibly blessed to be able to offer this experience to veterans who have given so much through their service.

This is just the beginning.

We believe the Newby Horses Helping People Center can become a valuable resource for veterans and others in need of connection, reflection, growth, and a renewed sense of possibility.

Our veterans have given so much to us. Now, it’s our turn to give back. ❤️🐴

Our Threes Over Deuces Casino Night was full of great food, wonderful prizes, gorgeous hats and lots of winners! Thank you to everyone who supported the event to raise funds for the animals that call Foxie G home.

💛 Happy World Gratitude Day! 💛

Today, we’re taking a moment to say thank you to every person who supports our cause and believes in our mission to help animals in need. 🐾

We’re grateful for every call, every share, every donation, every word of encouragement, and every person who chooses to stand alongside us when an animal needs help.

Most of all, we’re grateful for the opportunity to be there for animals who have nowhere else to turn. Every rescue, every second chance, and every happy ending is possible because of a community that cares.🐴🐱❤️

Thank you for helping us make a difference, one animal at a time. We couldn’t do this without you. 🙏

Looks like these middle aged girls didn’t get the message they are retired now and are supposed to be taking it easy.

Lina Picky, Cut Time, Cherry Bomb and Queen of the Disco all came to us when they couldn’t go on to second careers as riding horses.

Still young at heart and enjoying life, they all deserve a place to call home with some best buddies to get crazy with now and then.
