Why are you running for office: I think I could bring a different perspective and point of view surrounding growth opportunities for our town. I think the communication and overall relationship between our volunteered community groups could be greatly improved and I’d love to help bridge that gap.

What change do you want to see: When I drive through neighboring towns… I can’t help but notice things like clean and safe sidewalks, distinct directions and signage that point to their proud establishments, and just basic overall aesthetically pleasing touches that make you feel like the town cares about its appearance. Underwood and our business district has missed that mark on showcasing its local commerce for many years, while I understand change is hard when things have been done a certain way over a number of years, it’s not a solution to continue to leave them unaddressed. So I want to ask the hard questions as to why, and if it doesn’t make sense for the direction our town is going, what can we do as a council to make changes to continue positive growth and development. What grants are we missing out on, and what’s important for other community members to see that we might be missing when it comes to our town.

What experience do you bring: As a former nurse, I’ve been involved in tough conversations that often requires tough decision making. Working together as a team, understanding and being open to different opinions and points of view are important while working towards a common goal or solution.

How do you describe your politics: I’m a person that understands that even though we may not have the same political views - I can appreciate and respect your opinions, as differing minds lead to creative solutions and thoughtful discussions.

Why should Voters select you? I can relate to most of our community members surrounding issues that should be addressed and hope to be their sounding board when they want to see change or have a concern. I’m raising my family, building a life and businesses in this town because I see what it has to offer and giving back to a community that has given me so much is why Underwood is such a great place. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you as Council Member!

Hello, my name is Jodi Bose, and I am running for Underwood City Council!

I graduated from Underwood High School in 2006, and when my husband Luke and I started our family, I knew it was time to move back to Underwood so our kids, Brody, Lucas, Brooklyn and Logan could experience the same great town I grew up in. We bought the house on the edge of town and had a front row seat to watch our community grow over the years.

I obtained my nursing license in 2009 and worked in the brain and spinal cord rehab field for 17 years. That role taught me resilience, patience, and working collectively as a team to accomplish difficult tasks. I officially resigned from my nursing position in January 2023 to focus on a better work-life balance and pursue my local business adventures. I own operate a construction business, called Rustic Woods, I co-own your favorite local coffee shop; Nesting Grounds, and co-own the newest business Underwood has to offer, Boss Bar and Spa.

My experiences building and growing businesses in Underwood has made me want to be even more involved within our city government. I can provide a new prospective, be a voice for our community members and local business owners. I’m not afraid to ask the hard questions or speak up on behalf of others. I will help bridge the gap between the city, local commerce, and our established community groups. Underwood is a great place to plant your roots. It’s filled with amazing and involved community members who want to see our town evolve and grow. I will be at the forefront of creating positive change for our community.
