Guess the melt out date!!

After an incredible start to the year we sustained our depth but we never quite made it up to the seasonal average max depth at the Mansfield snow stake.

With the end of the season approaching we are relaunching everyone's favorite game, guess the melt out date!

Whoever guesses closest to the date on which NWS reports 0" at the stake wins! The winner will receive an MBA hat and free entry into either our fall Elmore Mountain 10k trail race OR a season pass to next winter's Green Mountain Community Skimo series.

All entries must be received by Wednesday April 15th at 11:59 PM.

The first day the snow stake hits zero is the winning day. If it snows again, you can go ski the snow, but it won't count for this game.

For a tie we will randomly draw the winner from all correct guesses.

We’re just a few races into the Green Mountain Community Skimo season, with seven more to go. And this just in, our February 3rd race will be at Stowe!

We’ll race up Perry Merrill, take Lower Rimrock to Crossover, then ski down Gondolier, doing as many -1600ft laps as we can within the hour.

We are on for week 2 of Skimo this evening (1/13)!!

Start is at 6:00 PM sharp from the base of the Wilderness chair at Bolton.

We have a fun course on tap heading up in the woods and a chill descent.

Weather looks ideal, with temps around 29 and calm winds!

We have a great raffle lined up as well starting at 8:00 PM in the fancy new fireside lounge across from the Tavern.

Please leave any gear in the coyote room not in the fireside lounge as we are trying to prevent the lounge from being a gear storage area.

We’re one week away from kicking off the Green Mountain Community Skimo Series ! First event is Tuesday evening, January 6th - start time 6 PM.

A large focus of this series is on gathering and having fun with the community, so grab your skimo, alpine touring, telemark or splitboard gear and come give it a try. Whether you plan on pushing yourself or opting for a social lap, there’s something for everyone so bring your friends and family along! We'll end each evening getting cozy inside and giving away some sweet raffle prizes by our awesome sponsors.

If you plan on attending 5 or more events, consider opting for the season pass. Make sure to purchase your pass before heading to the mountain, and don’t forget to also grab an uphill day ticket or season pass from Bolton.

Come out for our Season Kickoff Party to celebrate the start of winter with this amazing community! We're hosting the 21st Annual Backcountry Film Festival, showcasing a series of stories on backcountry adventure and connection to wild places, each other and the movement to keep winter wild.

When: Friday, Dec 12 - Film showing 6-8 PM
Where:
Schedule: Doors open at 5:30 PM. Films begin at 6 PM. Arrive early to grab food and drinks, and stick around after for the chance to win a great lineup of raffle prizes!

In case you missed it, it's been snowing up on Mount Mansfield!! The official first trace of snow was recorded by the NWS on October 24th.

Join us as we team up with for trail work this Saturday, October 25th!

We'll be helping with trail maintenance of some of the iconic backcountry trails in Ranch Valley. Come lend a hand to give back to the trails we frequent throughout winter. Participating gets you a free Stowe Nordic backcountry ski day pass!

- Park and meet outside of the gate to the Stowe Nordic Center @ 9 AM.
- Expect to be out on the trails until about 3 PM.
- Bring weather appropriate clothing, waterproof footwear (trails are still wet right now), lunch, snacks, water and any hand tools you have (loppers, hand saws).
