Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital Volunteer members accepted the 2025 Gold Award of Excellence at the HVK District Annual Meeting in Liberal recently. It is a prestigious honor awarded by Hospital Volunteers of Kansas (HVK) (formerly Hospital Auxiliaries of Kansas) to those recognized volunteer groups and auxiliaries for exceptional community service, health education, financial contributions, and the awarding of health career scholarships. BWMHV met the specific evaluation requirements—such as a set number of projects or activities—throughout the year to qualify for the honor. Those members attending were Bonnie Walters, Taunya Lindahl, Daena Gallegos, Shirley Isbell, and Tammy Barb. President Gallegos stated, “We are proud to represent our community at this state level and thank all who support our endeavors. We couldn’t do it without you.”

The BWMHV scholarship committee have announced their selection of recipients for 2026 scholarships in the medical/health related field of study. Congratulations to the following:

These scholarships are awarded every year to both high school seniors and others in the community who wish to begin or continue advanced education in a health-related field. The money comes from the Volunteer's gift shop profits and other fundraisers. We also receive support and donations from the community. We are grateful for the generous support we receive from our community.

On May 10, 2026, we had a great time at our Hospital Staff Appreciation Day. We had lots of delicious food and conversation. We also celebrated our 2026 scholarship winners.  If you're in the medical field, thank you for your service.
