What a beautiful day to Remember, Honor and Teach. 🇺🇸 We had an amazing ceremony, heard the Ukiah High Band play the national anthem, then we listened to beautiful stories about three local Veterans, and finished the morning up by coming together to place over 1300 wreaths.
We want to give a huge shoutout and THANK YOU to those that volunteered their time to help us today, for the sound and support, for the music and for getting up early after their big show last night, and her staff at the cemetery for all of their help today and thru out the year, The VFW Post 1900 for bringing the ceremonial flags, Byron Clark for being our MC, Pastor Gerry Burney for the opening prayer, The Redwood Valley Volunteer Firefighters for bringing the fire truck to transport the ceremonial wreaths and the Ukiah Valley Fire Department for bringing their fire truck and raising the giant American flag (which is there all day today).
We cannot do this without your support!
Also, a big thank you to everyone that came out this morning to watch the ceremony.

Despite the pouring rain, National Wreaths Across America Day was a success! We moved our ceremony inside the chapel at the Russian River Cemetery. It was dry and cozy. It looked a bit different than all the other years but we were still able to Remember, Honor and Teach. We ended the morning laying over 1100 wreaths in the rain.
We want to give a HUGE Thank You to everyone that showed up and helped out. Big shoutout to Jake Bernie for continuing to provide sound for us year after year, the Ukiah High School Band for the beautiful rendition of the National Anthem, and Maryann Gonzales from the VFW post 1900 for being our MC again this year.
We also want to thank some of our amazing supporters that are former 4Hers and families, Lily Lewis was our photographer, Amy Thompson Lewis helped with many many things including the refreshment tables, Dana Kornegay is our Location Coordinator and facilitator at the cemetery. Without these ladies, the ceremony would not be possible.
Without your continued support our Ukiah WAA would not be possible either. Every wreath has to be sponsored and our community always pulls thru and helps out! The wreath match program starts today, if you would like to sponsor a wreath for next year.
