Join us! DRBU Colloquium presents a talk by Professor Lauren Bausch, part of the Faculty Lunch Talk Series.⁠

Many of the middle and late Vedic texts contain insights and explanations for ritual offerings, yet much of this material was omitted from later post-Vedic Brahmanical tradition. These texts were known to varying degrees by the brahmins taught by the Buddha. Through select examples, Professor Bausch will explore why these sagely insights were left aside and what they reveal about the relationship between late Vedic and early Buddhist thought.⁠

The Ho Center for Buddhist Studies at Stanford traveled to the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas to document what few outsiders have witnessed. The living legacy of Master Hsuan Hua, where monastics, scholars, and disciples carry forward a tradition in which contemplative life and education are not separate pursuits, but one.⁠
