Tapestry Family Services is a community-based nonprofit organization and Foster Family Agency formed to develop and provide programs and services that support and advance the health and well-being of children and adolescents with mental health needs. As the name implies, our programs are designed to weave an array of services around children and families. Like a tapestry, the service threads are l

inked and related, with the specific pattern of services designed to meet the unique needs of each individual child.

Care Without a Zip Code

Mental health needs do not disappear because someone lives in a different zip code.

They do not disappear because transportation is hard.
They do not disappear because services are farther away.
They do not disappear because someone lives in a smaller or more rural community.

At Tapestry Family Services, we believe support should be connected to real life in Mendocino County, including the reality that not every family can easily travel to services, and not every community has the same access to care.

That is why our team continues working to bring support closer to where people live, learn, and connect through our offices in Ukiah, Willits, and Fort Bragg, and through community-based services reaching places like Laytonville, Covelo, Round Valley, Leggett, and the Mendocino Coast.

Care should not depend on how close someone lives to an office.

It should be compassionate.
It should be accessible.
It should meet people where they are.

Meet the Team Monday: Gonzalo

This week, we're excited to highlight Gonzalo, one of the wonderful members of our Rehab team based out of the Willits office.

Gonzalo has been with Tapestry Family Services for about a year, and in that time, he has made a meaningful impression through his kindness, dependability and willingness to show up for the people we serve.

As part of our Rehab team, Gonzalo works with children, youth, and adults, providing support that is steady and thoughtful. Earlier in his time with Tapestry, Gonzalo spent time supporting communities like Laytonville and Covelo, bringing the same steady, thoughtful presence wherever he was needed.

Gonzalo is also continuing to build on his education and professional growth, and it is exciting to see the path ahead of him. With a heart for the work, calm presence, and commitment to learning, the sky really is the limit for him.

We are grateful to have Gonzalo as part of the Tapestry team and proud to recognize the positive impact he continues to make.

Back 2 School Bash Recap!

We had such a great time yesterday at the Ukiah Back 2 School Bash!

A huge thank you to Pastors Mike and Jen Dyer from the River Church, along with all of the volunteers, community partners, and organizations who helped make this such a wonderful event for local families.

There is something special about seeing the community come together to support our kids as they get ready for a new school year. From backpacks and supplies to smiles, encouragement, and connection, events like this remind us how much stronger we are when we show up for one another.

Tapestry Family Services was grateful to be part of such a positive day for our community. Wishing all students, families, teachers, and school staff a wonderful start to the school year!

๐Ÿข๐Ÿ’™ Small Steps. Big Impact. Change a Child's Journey. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿข

Just like a turtle needs a safe shell to grow and thrive, children in foster care need a stable, supportive home where they can feel safe, loved, and understood.

At Tapestry Family Services, we're looking for compassionate foster parents to support youth in our Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) and Intensive Services Foster Care (ISFC) programs. These children may be navigating emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges and need caring adults who can help guide them forward, one step at a time.

As a Tapestry foster parent, you'll receive:
๐Ÿข Specialized training and ongoing support
๐Ÿข Access to a dedicated treatment team
๐Ÿข 24/7 assistance when you need it
๐Ÿข The opportunity to help a child build confidence, resilience, and hope

Every journey begins with a single step. Your patience, encouragement, and commitment can help a child come out of their shell and discover their strengths.

๐Ÿก Ready to make a lasting difference?

๐Ÿ“ž Contact Tapestry Family Services today to learn more about becoming a Therapeutic or Intensive Services Foster Care Parent.

We are excited to celebrate Saraya Landon, APCC, who has been promoted to Clinical Supervisor at Tapestry Family Services!

Saraya joined Tapestry in January 2022 as a Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist. Since then, she has continued to grow her education, complete her therapy traineeship, become an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, support our Foster Care Department as a Social Worker, and deepen her work in specialty services like Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

Saraya has also been a meaningful part of expanding PCIT beyond the office and into the community through our mobile PCIT services.

Saraya, we are proud of your growth, dedication, and heart for this work. Please join us in congratulating her on this well-deserved promotion!

Terrific Turtle Spotlight: Vanessa Cruz-Ceja

This month, we are proud to recognize Vaneesa Cruz-Ceja as our Terrific Turtle!

Vanessa has been part of Tapestry Family Services for seven years, and her journey with our agency is such a beautiful example of growth, dedication, and heart for the work.

She began as a Transportation Aide back when our Ukiah office was still on Gobbi Street. Over time, Vanessa continued stepping into new opportunities, supporting families through language access, taking on project work, joining the Operations Department as a QA Analyst, and helping strengthen quality across the agency.

While continuing to grow professionally, Vanessa returned to school and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Sacrament State University. After returning home to Ukiah, she joined our Rehab team, later became a Rehab Supervisor, and is now preparing to begin her traineeship as she works toward becoming a therapist.

Vanessa has contributed to so many parts of Tapestry, and through every role, she has brought the same positivity, curiosity, work ethic, and commitment to serving our community.

Vanessa, we are incredibly proud of you and all you have accomplished. Thank you for the care, dedication, and heart you bring to Tapestry. WE cannot wait to see where this next chapter takes you!

Please join us in congratulating Vanessa, our Terrific Turtle!
