To the mothers in our community,
Happy Mother’s Day. 💚

At Grit & Glitz, every woman on our team carries the role of mother in some way. And if we’re honest… motherhood is one of the most beautiful and demanding leadership roles there is.

It’s early mornings and late nights.
Calendars and car rides.
Building businesses while building people.
Holding families together while still trying to remember yourself in the middle of it all.
It’s showing up tired.
Loving anyway.
Trying again tomorrow.

Today we celebrate the women who nurture, guide, protect, encourage, sacrifice, and keep going even when no one sees the weight they carry.

To the moms balancing careers, callings, homes, grief, healing, dreams, and growing children all at once—
we see you.

To the spiritual mothers, bonus moms, grandmothers, adoptive moms, foster moms, grieving mothers, and the women longing to become mothers someday—
you matter here too.

Thank you for the countless ways you lead with strength, tenderness, resilience, and love.
We hope today reminds you that you are more than what you produce.

You are deeply valued for who you are.

Last night at Grit & Glitz felt different.
It wasn’t just networking. It was honest.
One of the things that kept coming up in conversation after conversation was this idea of the “scripts” we carry in our heads, the ones that show up automatically when something feels hard or unfamiliar.

Cassie shared from a really vulnerable place and referenced A Beautiful Mind. There’s a point in the story where the main character realizes the people he sees aren’t real—but they don’t actually go away. They’re still there… they just lose their power when he stops engaging with them.

That landed.

Because most of us don’t struggle with what’s true as much as we struggle with what’s familiar.
The thoughts that say:
You’re not ready.
You’re too much.
You’re not enough.
Don’t try. Stay where it’s safe.

Those scripts didn’t come out of nowhere. They were built in real moments, real experiences, real pain. But just because they were formed there doesn’t mean they get to lead now.

They might still show up.
But they don’t get to drive.
You get to decide what voice you follow.
And what I saw last night was a room full of women starting to do exactly that, questioning the old narratives, choosing something healthier, and reminding each other that joy and growth are actually allowed.

Not someday. Now.

That’s what Grit & Glitz is about. Not perfection. Not pretending. Just real women doing the work to become who they were meant to be.
We’ll be opening tickets for the next one soon.

You could feel the energy, support and communty in the room.
Not just another event…
but a room full of women showing up, leaning in, laughing, connecting, and reminding each other that we’re not doing this alone.
That’s the magic of Grit & Glitz.

It’s not just networking—
it’s community. It’s courage. It’s growth in real time.

I don’t know where the time went, and if you’ve been feeling busy lately… same. Life is full right now. Kids, work, commitments, trying to enjoy spring… it’s a lot.
