Open call for 4H members. We currently have two new groups, one Clover Bud Group, ages 5 - 7 and another ages 8 - 19. We are a "Sparks Group" which is a divested interest group - we explore one child's interest to see if it sparks any interest in another child, etc. We experience as many new events or challenges as we can find funding, transportation, or interest, in attending. We are having our first, Organizational, meeting Friday, July 26th at 11:00 - 1:00. Somethings to be discussed are: Groups' Names, meeting times and places. Projects, event to attend...and a few other things. We hope there will be some community interest. We are a primarily homeschooled group but might be able to accommodate a group of public schooled children if the interest is there. We hope anyone interested will reach out and let me know you will be attending the Friday meeting to enroll your child / children. Please remember, 4H is a family affair. We will meet once a month. More if we are working on a project or attending events or having celebrations. We have a resource leader, selected by Cornell Cooperative Extension. Her name is Kim Seaman. We have 2 activity Leaders, Haley and Laura. We might need more activity leaders if the group grows or if there is interest. We will turn no one down. We need Project Leaders eventually but not until we decide on projects and what resources we need. It really sounds like a nice opportunity for all. They have 7 more weeks of summer camp, both "residential" which is overnight for a week. And day camp which requires pick up and delivery. They have scholarships for some. There are "pop up" activities planned for August. I believe Archery is the first one. Please spread the word and see if we can drum up a little more interest. We currently have 16 kids. A nice number but I would hope for a few more for the sake of getting the kids to collaborate. All people are welcome - all ideas ... and all Pinterest boards... !!!!!!!
