🐾 EMERGENCY: Meet Marley 🐾

This sweet senior schnauzer was found collapsed on a stranger's porch — came in as a stray dog call, and he needed help fast. He's now hospitalized, covered in fleas, and estimated to be 11–13 years old.

He went in close to closing time, so the team is starting IV fluids and care overnight. We'll know more in the morning, but one thing is already clear: Marley is a senior boy who deserves to feel safe and loved for whatever time he has left.

Senior dogs like Marley are so often overlooked. Not today. Not on our watch.

Every dollar to the Magnolia Fund goes straight toward his emergency vet care.

🐾 Wishlist Wednesday 🐾

This week, we are asking for supplies to help with our upcoming transports and TNR missions.

Our most-needed items include:

• Puppy pads
• Paper food bowls
• Cat food for trap bait
• Towels and small blankets
• Zip ties
• Slip leads
• Collars and leashes
• Cleaning supplies
• Bottled water for transport days

These may seem like simple items, but we use them often while trapping community cats, caring for animals before and after surgery, and preparing dogs for transport.

If you would like to donate, please send us a message to arrange drop-off. You can also help by sharing this post. Every item donated helps our small volunteer team stretch our funds a little further. Thank you for supporting Mississippi Animal Project!

🐾 TNR Tuesday 🐾

That little tipped ear tells a big story.

It means a community cat has been safely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and returned to the outdoor home it knows. That one simple ear tip also means no more litters from that cat.

TNR does not change everything overnight, but every cat matters. One surgery prevents more kittens from being born into a life of sickness, hunger, and uncertainty.

Since beginning our TNR program in 2025, Mississippi Animal Project has helped approximately 600 community cats. We could not continue this work without the people who report colonies, allow us to trap on their property, help monitor the cats, and donate toward their care.

Today, help us celebrate the quiet little heroes with tipped ears. If you care for a community cat, share a picture in the comments. We would love to see them!

🍂 Our Paws and Pumpkins fundraiser is coming together, but we still need your help!

We are collecting donated items, gift cards, fall goodies, and services from local businesses and community members for our annual fall fundraiser. Every item donated will help us raise money for the animals in our care, including food, vaccines, medications, spay and neuter surgeries, and veterinary bills.

No donation is too small. A gift card, basket item, or donated service can help us create something wonderful while giving your business a little extra recognition in our community.

If you would like to contribute, please send us a message. We are so grateful to everyone who has already offered to help make Paws and Pumpkins a success!
