Missionary Ceaugry Scott Houston was active in the community and served as district missionary for the Church of God in Christ for many years. The children of Ceaugry and W.B. Houston built the facility to honor the memory of their parents, who de

dicated their lives to missionary work in the Tyler community. community center is located in the area of North Tyler, formerly known as the ‘Cut’ which was historically a thriving business center for the African American community in Tyler. The 6,000 sq feet community center also houses the ‘Bread in a Starving Land Ministry’ of Smith Temple Church of God in Christ. The center will also be open for public use, as a community resource center and banquet facility.
