Tyler Tigers The Tyler Tigers are a part of the National Beep Ball Association (NBBA). They are a blind baseball The Tyler Tigers play in the Beep Baseball league.

The rules from the regular game are a little different but it is the same principle, get a hit and get on base. Larry and Rosie Reed head up this amazing team. The Tigers began in 1994, when Larry Reed got wind of other blind baseball teams and wanted to start one in Tyler. Most of the players are blind, but some members have sight. The catcher and pitchers can see. Other sighted team members wear

blind folds. "A lot of people say you are blind and let me help," Larry explained, "so what we do is we get out here and show them we can do things just as good as they can, we just don't have sight." In addition to the beeping ball, the bases also beep. They are triggered to a sensor so that way when the ball comes near, players know which way to run. The Tigers realize just how surprising a blind baseball team is to most folks.

I’m a little late but on behalf of the Tyler Tigers we want to thank each and everyone who made this year’s Shootout a huge success. We can’t thank you enough for all that you did, it was definitely a good time. Congratulations to the Austin Blackhawks this year’s champion. The heavyweight belt is returning to the Blackhawks home for a year. All top performers will receive their medals in the coming days. It was definitely a good day.

What a World Series. We won some and we lost some. We didn’t do as well as we hoped, in life sometimes when you lose you actually win. And as a team we won. We united as one. We encouraged and motivated each other. We built up each other’s self esteem and confidence. Most of all we didn’t give up. We know what we need to work on during the off season. We want to thank all of our sponsors and supporters, we couldn’t have done it without you. And thank you to the NBBA tournament committee for all of your hard work and dedication to ensure that we had a successful week. Greater is coming for Tiger Nation, don’t sleep on us!!!
