A Tyler neighborhood that began as open land after World War II is now nationally recognized for its place in our city’s history. Join us tomorrow (May 11) at 5:30 p.m. at Pollard Park as we recognize the Pollard Historic District and the homes, streets, and people that helped shape this chapter of Tyler’s growth. Thank you.

Because of your generosity on East Texas Giving Day, we are able to continue building momentum at the Smith County Historical Society.

Your support allows us to care for our historic Carnegie Library building, protect and digitize our archives, and expand programs that bring local history to life.

We are grateful for each and every gift and for a community that believes this work matters.

It was such a lovely evening at Liberty Hall last night. We started by stepping back into Smith County in the 1930s, then into the founding of the East Texas Symphony Orchestra, and ended by hearing from the Symphony’s director and maestro about how it’s evolved over the past 90 years and what’s ahead. Being in a room full of people connecting and sharing in that story was really special. We also had the chance to recognize JB Smith for 50 years of service to our community!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support, learn, and be part of it. Nights like this are what it’s all about.

As we head toward East Texas Giving Day on April 28, we’d love to keep this kind of programming going.

Your support helps us:
• Care for and preserve our archives
• Maintain and improve our historic Carnegie Library building
• Continue offering programs that bring our community together
