She Walked to Her Field Again

For more than a year, Founou Agbanna stayed inside her home.

She is a farmer in Afagnan-Bas Mono. Cataracts slowly took her sight, and with it, her independence. She could no longer dress herself. She could not walk to her field. Her aunt’s child guided her everywhere.

“The hardest part,” she said, “was feeling like a burden.”

When our mobile team came to her village, she arrived quietly and a little afraid. But she was met with kindness. The surgery did not take long.

The next morning, when her bandages were removed, she could see.
Soon after, she walked to her field on her own.

Now she dresses herself. She moves through her village freely. Her family no longer has to guide her everywhere.

It may seem small to say she can see again. But in her home, it has changed everything.

Thank you for helping bring light to her village.

She Blinked and Started to Cry

For three years, Alice sold fish in the market without being able to see.

She worked by touch and memory. She knew the weight of each fish in her hands. She recognized customers by their voices. It was exhausting, but she refused to stop working.

A young woman who lived with her became her daily guide—walking her to the market, helping her eat, dress, and move safely. When that young woman passed away suddenly, Alice lost not only her sight, but the person who had become her eyes.

When our team came to Afagnan, Alice received cataract surgery.

The next morning, when the bandage was removed, she blinked… and started to cry.

She looked around slowly, recognizing faces. After three years, she could see clearly again.

Now she is preparing to return to the market on her own.

Thank you for helping make that possible.

ISSAKA’S STORY | Northern Togo, Africa

Two years ago, Issaka lost her sight—first one eye, then the other. “I stopped going to the fields because I couldn’t see anything,” she said. “I felt alone, always in my room, hoping God would find me a solution.”

Blindness took a heavy toll on her family. “I became a burden,” she shared. “Some of my children grew tired of helping me, and the atmosphere at home was heavy.”

Then one day, her son heard a radio announcement: a team of doctors from Sight.org was coming to Bafilo.

“The team treated me with such respect and kindness,” Issaka said. “I wasn’t afraid anymore. The day my bandage came off, I saw the colors of nature again—it was pure joy.”

Now Issaka can walk on her own, and peace has returned to her home. “My children are back to work. Joy has returned. May God bless everyone who made this possible.”

BOURAIMA’S STORY | BAFIKO, KARA REGION

For two long years, Bouraima lived in darkness. After her husband passed away, her vision began to fade until she could no longer see at all. “I couldn’t eat or shower without help from my children,” she said. “It was a heavy burden for them.”

Then one day, she heard an announcement on the radio—Sight.org was coming to her region. “I was overjoyed,” she said. “I could already see my liberation.”

After receiving cataract surgery through Sight.org’s mobile eye team, everything changed. “It’s as if I was born again,” she shared. “Now I can see my children’s faces, walk alone, and live freely again. May God bless Sight.org and its partners.”

👷‍♂️ “I was a mason, working hard to feed my family. Then blindness took everything.”

For two long years, Aliba Mojolouwe from the Bafilo region of Togo lived in darkness. His wife left, his work stopped, and he depended on his siblings for everything.

When Sight.org’s mobile team arrived, Aliba received free cataract surgery that restored his vision—and his hope.

💬 “Now I’ve rediscovered the joy of living and the smile of my twins. I can work again and live without anyone’s help. God bless the people who made this possible.”

Because of this transformation, Aliba’s family is thriving again.

SEBO’S STORY | Northern Togo, Africa

For three years, Sebo’s vision faded until he could no longer farm—the only work he had ever known. “I forced myself to keep working,” he said, “but eventually, I became a burden for my brother and my son.”

Even through blindness, his family and friends stood by him. “They never abandoned me,” Sebo said. “They cared for me and visited often so I wouldn’t feel alone.”

When Sight.org arrived in his region, hope returned. “The doctors were joyful and kind. The surgery was free—I didn’t believe it until I saw it was true.”

Today, Sebo’s sight is restored. “Now that I can see, I feel free again, and my family feels free too. May God bless everyone who made this possible.”

🚁 Helicopter Update!

Many of you know I’ve been working on building a helicopter for our mission in Togo. This aircraft will allow us to reach remote villages, announce surgery campaigns, and open doors for the gospel.

I’ve just posted a new video showing the construction progress—step by step we’re getting closer to flight!
👉 Watch the update here: https://youtu.be/K69s5BUQ99w

Thank you for continuing to pray and support this vision. Together, we’re making a way to bring both sight and hope to some of the most unreached places in Africa.
