Wow...thank you Chick-fil-A and their guests for the overwhelming response for the Chicken & Waffles fundraiser held during September's Hunger Action Month.
Guest participation exceeded expectations, allowing local restaurants to reach the full $20,000 fundraising goal.
Chick-fil-A, Inc. matched the $20,000 raised by participating local restaurants, bringing the total contribution to the East Texas Food Bank to $40,000!

The East Texas Food Bank received a generous donation of 40,000 pounds of nonperishable food items today from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Canned items included oats, sugar, pasta, flour and dry milk. These items will be distributed to partners throughout our 26 county service area.
The delivery is the latest in a series of food donations from the Church in 2026, including a 42,000-pound shipment of assorted food in January and a donation of meat during the summer.

"The generosity and continued commitment to serving others make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families facing hunger throughout East Texas,” said David Emerson, CEO of the East Texas Food Bank.

The East Texas Food Bank received this week 280,000 eggs from the state of Texas that will be distributed through our pantry partners in our 26 county region. The statewide distribution of over seven million eggs to Texas food banks was part of a state settlement.
