We’re excited to announce the finalists in the Inspired By Their Stories Award, a new award created to recognize nonprofit organizations whose work is changing lives and restoring dignity for society’s most vulnerable.

We'd like to thank the hundreds of nonprofits who shared their stories with us. After much deliberation, we’re proud to present one of the five finalists in the Care for Others category, Throwing Seeds in Nigeria.

This organization supports ministries in Nigeria that care for the vulnerable and share God’s love. Through orphan care centers, schooling, mentorship, and job placement, Throwing Seeds helps children heal from trauma and rebuild meaningful, stable lives within their communities.

Each day this week, we’ll be revealing our finalists in one of our four categories:
• Care for Others
• Education
• Hunger & Thirst
• Shelter

From the finalists in each category, one organization will be selected as the category winner. Among the four category winners, one overall recipient will be named the Inspired By Their Stories Award Winner, receiving a $25,000 charitable donation. The remaining three category winners will each receive a $5,000 donation.

Back around the beginning of the year many of you purchased raffle tickets to help support a ministry we have called the cattle outreaches. Basically what they are is a tool used to reach out to the other religion in Nigeria. They are constantly being done, helping to bring peace and letting them know the love of God. Below is a recent report from our outreach leader there. Special thanks to Matt Hazel Cowdogs and Amanda Hazel for their involvement in this ministry.

Outreach Bauchi state.
No. of vaccinated cows are 163. The village is a small village occupied by the indigenes and Fulani's. The Fulani's are on the outskirts of the town with their cattle. There is an ECWA church in the village and the pastor is a very active person that has connections with the Fulani's and due to his influence they are able to live peacefully with the Fulani's.
Film shows:
During the outreach we had two film shows in the village and the attendance was massive.
During the film show we had over 300 people that watched the film on the first day and about 365 on the second day, and about 70 prayed to accept Jesus Christ as their savior this includes men, women and children. During the church service one of our Fulani converts(David Wetti) shared his testimony in the church and it really challenged the members and he told them of his conversation and that they have so many Fulani's who are looking for someone to lead them to Christ.

An amazing thing is happening in a small remote area in Nigeria. Surrounded by Islam, God is raising a group of believers despite the pressures from the community. This past June I was able to witness this group and encourage them. It always amazes me, although as a believer I should already know this, how the gospel can drastically change someone’s life. This group are converted Muslims. God has reached deep down into their hearts and has shown them that He loves them deeply. They knew the consequences, yet they still chose to follow Jesus. Once you see this personally, it changes you. Through my contact in Nigeria, the word is that God is adding to their numbers on a regular basis. Because of their location, life has become difficult. Some had to leave their families, some have had to go into hiding, and everyday life has become a challenge. They are paying elevated prices of basic supplies just because they have decided to follow Jesus. Being moved by what I saw, I want to help this small band of believers spread the gospel in their area. Thankfully, they have acquired a small piece of land to build a church. They need financial support to be self-sustaining. One way to help is by providing small animals as well as things to help them grow their crops. They also need prayer. A battle is being waged in this area and the enemy doesn’t like what’s happening. We want to build them a small church. One of the ways we can help spread the gospel is by supporting these people. They are on fire for Christ, and together we can help them bring a light of hope into this community.

In May of 2023 there were a series of attacks close to where we minister in Nigeria. I went with a group of people to help those who had been attacked, and afterwards we were guided to a local clinic to visit the victims. That's where I met Naomi. She had been shot, burned, and cut with a machete. She was healed from her physical attacks, but sadly she died a few months later from the trauma she had endured. She is but one of thousands who are attacked because of her faith in Jesus. This past trip in 2024 I was able to visit where this attack occurred. God has laid it on my heart to help raise support for persecuted believers in Nigeria. Honestly this seems like a huge task, trying to convey what I saw and experienced to people who haven't seen or experienced something like this. But, I believe we are guided to different situations for a reason, so I will try to help the persecuted. My wife and I have started a non profit to help with things like this. It's a small organization, but we are able to get the support directly where it's needed and in a timely manner. Hey guys. I want to share with you one of the areas Throwing Seeds ministers to in Nigeria. Eight years ago I met a man named Michael,who is Nigerian, who was running a orphanage for children who some of them their parents had been killed in the violence. He brings the children in, and takes care of them completely, from housing to feeding, he even has a school for them to go to on site where they live. I have watched him struggle to keep the children fed, he has even had to protect them from the attacks that have happened in that area, often wondering what was going to happen and has been a victim of the attacks as well. I often wonder how he has kept things together considering the huge amount of responsibility he has taken on. He is a man of character, and I trust him. They have needs, and one right now is they need firewood to cook with. If you feel led to give, you can do so here. Hey guys! We have officially started our fundraising for the cattle outreach ministry. I am part of a ministry in Nigeria that is reaching out to an unreached people group. The group we are targeting is 99% unreached with the good news. The attached video will help explain what the ministry is about. We are having a raffle to help with the costs of medication and to help send the groups out to do the vaccinations to show them that we care about them, and to promote peace in a volatile region. Thanks again to Matt hazel and his involvement with this ministry. In the comments there’s a short video talking about the raffle.

Welcome to throwing seeds. We are a non profit organization dedicated to showing the love of Christ through meeting the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people in different area of the world. We are a Christian organization wanting people to know how much Jesus loves them through the different areas we are involved in. We have different programs to reach out to the different areas with which we serve In Nigeria, we are ministering to the unreached people groups (UPG),
Persecuted believers, bridging the gap between different religious groups for peace, and working with street kids and orphans. In Mexico we are just starting up in Irapuato, Mexico reaching out to the classes of people that are forgotten.
