The Giant
There is a giant in your land and you know full well that you see it.
It’s loud with its mocking and taunting. Intimidation tactics. Laughing at your stature but forgetting the shadow of the Lion of Judah who fights with you.
Get ready, friend.
It’s time for war.
But be careful how you approach this giant because only that which God gave you is what will destroy him.
If you are attempting a victory in another man’s armor, you will likely be defeated.
But if you will remember who you are in Christ, and operate as such, in the authority in Him that you carry…Victory is sure.
1 Samuel 17…
You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. 47 All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.”
David was not passive nor was he silent.
He didn’t declare quietly like a little mouse. He proclaimed boldly, confident in the One whom He served.
Once he declared how the cow was gonna eat the cabbage he pulled out the weapon he had been trained with while watching sheep. Something we might be overlooking in our own lives, today.
All of his years in the field had prepared him well for this moment.
Tucked away from view tending sheep seemed, I’m sure, like a mundane task, yet, it was his training ground.
Not another weapon that seemed bigger or more powerful was needed but the very one God skilled him in while he daily performed his job as a shepherd faithfully.
Some of us are letting the giant declare loudly while we politely step back.
Let us remember that David did not negotiate with the giant. He only slayed him.
So, let us now pick up the pace.
And set your face running right towards that giant.
This is the showdown of your life.
Follow David’s lead and declare the victory of the Lord.
Then watch how Heaven brings down every taunting thing that has dared to come against Him.
When the enemy messes with you, Jesus takes it personally.
If God is for you. No one can stand against…
