Meals On Wheels Ministry, Inc. We provide nutritious meals, social contact, a daily safety check, and referrals for other services.

Meals on Wheels Ministry mobilizes a vast network of volunteer and paid drivers who deliver hot, freshly prepared meals four days a week to over 2,500 clients living in Gregg, Henderson, Smith, Van Zandt, Upshur, and Wood Counties. Clients also receive a frozen meal with their hot meal on Thursday to use on Friday or over the weekend. Although the meal is a critical part of our service, studies show that the friendly visit, safety check, and community connection play an invaluable role in enhancing the quality of life for our clients. Volunteers not only offer the comfort of human interaction to individuals living in isolation, but the visit also offers a chance to observe a client's overall health and wellness. If a volunteer observes abuse, general decline, or even intervenes during an emergency, Meals on Wheels Ministry can take appropriate measures to ensure the safety and well-being of our clients. For many, Meals on Wheels is the final barrier between a life at home and a life in a nursing home. We are actively cultivating relationships with other area agencies to provide additional services such as fans in the summertime. We welcome tours of our Tyler facility for anyone who is interested in seeing and learning more!

Supporting Meals on Wheels East Texas doesn’t always begin with opening your wallet. Sometimes it begins with opening a door to someone new.

A share could reach our next volunteer.
A conversation could inspire a local business.
A tag could introduce someone to a mission they’ll love.

Which one will you do today?

Dear Meals Fur Pets,

My human and I do almost everything together—including waiting by the door. Thank you for remembering that when you care for one of us, you care for both of us.

Love,
A very grateful East Texas sidekick 🐾

Meals Fur Pets helps participating clients feed their beloved dogs and cats. Pet-food packing is also a fun service project for offices, clubs, Sunday school classes and youth groups.

A very special part of our Power of a Meal Luncheon was recognizing the incredible people and organizations whose compassion helps carry our mission forward. 💙

🏆 PATH received our Community Partnership Award in appreciation of five years of partnership through the annual Fan Drive, helping bring comfort, care, and dignity to the seniors we serve.

🏆 Therapet: Animal Assisted Therapy received our Community Partnership Award in recognition of 10 years of partnership providing food for our clients’ beloved pets—caring for the companions who bring them so much love and comfort.

🏆 We also proudly honored the life and legacy of Mike Green with the Mike Green Volunteer of the Year Award. His extraordinary commitment to service, compassion for others, and dedication to Meals on Wheels East Texas will never be forgotten.

Congratulations, and thank you for showing us just how powerful service, partnership, and community can be! 💛

What a wonderful Power of a Meal Luncheon! 💙🍽️

We were honored to welcome an incredible guest speaker and share more about the many ways Meals on Wheels East Texas serves homebound seniors throughout our community. We honored some very special people who have been there to support our mission over and over again.
From nutritious meals and friendly visits to safety checks and meaningful connections, our mission truly goes far beyond the meal.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, listened, learned, and celebrated the power of community with us. We are so grateful for your support! 💛 THANK YOU!!
