GRAB THE TISSUES.
Some dogs arrive carrying more than physical scars. Lucy (left) arrived carrying a lifetime of missed experiences.
Rescued from a hoarding situation and used as a puppy mill breeder dog, Lucy had spent her life knowing little beyond the walls of a kennel. Human touch was unfamiliar. The outdoors were a mystery. Every sound, every experience, every act of kindness was something she had never truly known. Shy, timid, and frightened, Lucy faced a world that seemed overwhelming.
Then everything changed.
Foster mom Hayley Cox and her amazing crew of littles opened their hearts and home to Lucy. With patience, consistency, and endless love, they helped her discover that people could be trusted, that gentle hands bring comfort, and that life could be full of joy instead of fear. Day by day, Lucy transformed from a terrified dog who wanted to hide from the world into a confident, happy canine ready to embrace it.
Watching Lucy blossom has been nothing short of remarkable, and we are so grateful for Hayley’s expertise, dedication, and belief in what rescue dogs can become when given a chance.
When Jill and James Gribben met Lucy, it felt like fate. They were amazed by how much she resembled Boss, the dog they adopted in March 2026. As second-time adopters, the Gribben's already understood the power of rescue—and they knew Lucy belonged with them.
Today, Lucy has the family she always deserved. A dog who once knew only confinement now knows love, comfort, security, and belonging. Her story is a beautiful reminder that no matter where a dog starts, with patience and compassion, a brighter future is always possible.
Thank you to Holly & Sonny Krezdorn for sponsoring Lucy's adoption.
Happy tails, sweet Lucy. Your new life has only just begun.
