It may have been dark outside, but the Smith County courtroom was lit up today by our newest advocates!

Many have already been matched with cases by CASA staff based on their strengths and comfort level. We’re so thrilled to have them on our team and for the children they will advocate for. 💙

We’re grateful for every chance to share our mission. Recently, our Sr. Community Engagement Coordinator did just that at the quarterly Church and Community Meeting.

Meet the staff who guide new volunteers from interest to advocacy. Sonya and Lana are deeply knowledgeable about the process of becoming a CASA and help volunteers feel prepared and supported every step of the way. After training, they even help our team identify which cases may be the best fit for each advocate. If you’ve ever thought about becoming a volunteer, then you’re in good hands with these two.💙

We will be having two information sessions hosted by Ruby’s Mexican Restaurant. Bring a friend, pull up a chair, and have some authentic Mexican food while we share our mission with the community. Join us on Monday, March 16th, from 6:00 - 7:00PM
& Friday, March 20th, 10:00 - 11:00AM. 💙💙💙

After completing training, staff meet to discuss each case needs and match with volunteers’ strengths. This helps ensure every child has an advocate well suited to support them. Once assigned, advocates work closely with a case supervisor who provides ongoing support as they represent the child’s best interests. 💙
