The SAVE Act would make voting more difficult for eligible citizens and disproportionately harm those who already face barriers. It is a “show your papers” bill that seeks to make it harder for millions of U.S. citizens to register to vote.
This legislation is unnecessary — federal law already prohibits noncitizens from voting in federal elections.

The Vote by Mail ballot application receipt deadline is in 1 week! That means if you plan to Vote by Mail in the 2026 Texas Primary Election, you need to send in your application NOW! Because of the USPS new rules regarding the definition of “postmark,” your Vote by Mail application must be processed (not received) by USPS by Feb. 20th.

The best thing to do to make sure you don’t miss the deadline is to drop off your Vote by Mail application in person at your county’s election office OR get your application hand stamped at the post office and send it by certified mail.
