The Spring 2026 season has come to an end.
It has been a season of growth for the Tyler Soccer Association community. From beginning to end, we’ve watched players learn and love the game, individual families grow into team families, and kids harvest lifelong connections with coaches and teammates.
To the city of Tyler thank you for providing and maintaining a space for us to do what we do for the youth of East Texas and beyond. Whether it’s mowing, lining fields, removing sticker burs or unclogging toilets. You have been a great partner in this endeavor.
To our board members and other volunteers thank you for the time you have sacrificed to organize a very large association. Understanding that ultimately you are here for the kids. Having to constantly navigate the same game with different rules for every age, from pre-school to high school. Your dedication to soldier through and do what you think is right even when there is someone that will disagree with every decision.
To our coaches thank you for your presence. The lessons you teach are less about soccer and more about teaching these young minds how to overcome adversity. How to do hard things and how to do them well. How to navigate successes AND failures. You will probably never know the impact you have, but just know the imprint is there.
To our referees thank you for showing up. It’s not easy being the villain in everyone’s story. You are like an endangered species that everyone just loves to hunt. Every match day you are the only group expected to be unrealistically perfect. Yet every week you show up and endure criticism (and occasionally verbal abuse) just so kids can enjoy a game. Please know you are appreciated by those who matter and if you’re not here all this goes away.
To our parents and families thank you for being everything for these athletes. Whether it’s being their personal Uber driver, the one who heads back to the house to get their forgotten shin guards or cleats, the ones drying their tears after a tough loss, being their fiercest protectors or for most of you juggling multiple athletes and their insane schedules, you are the biggest piece to this puzzle. Thank you for embracing your role as their safe place.
And finally, to our athletes, thank you for your love. Love for the game, love for your families, love for your coaches and teammates. Your enthusiasm is why all of this is. Without the players, TSA would not exist.
We hope you have had an enjoyable experience at TSA this spring and we just want you to know that even though this fall will be more crazy than usual with the mandated age group change we will be working as hard as we possibly can to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible for everyone involved.
Thank you,
Tyler Soccer Association
