Women In Tyler Committee Announcement of Co-Chairs and Theme for
2027 Luncheon was made on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 5:30 pm during a press conference at the McClendon House, 806 W. Houston Street, Tyler.

As a way to celebrate Women’s History Month, Women in Tyler was founded in 1999 to honor women who have contributed to the quality of life in our community.

The 2027 theme is “Women on a Mission.” and the committee is seeking nominations of women that make connections that help contribute to the quality of life in our community. Deadline is September 10.

Women on a Mission Nomination Criteria:

Highly determined focused on achieving a specific goal, displaying strong ambition and dedication. Someone purposeful, proactive, and often unstoppable, whether in professional, personal, or charitable endeavors
Empowered by faith, purpose, or a specific cause to create positive change, whether through discipleship/outreach or by supporting vulnerable populations. Combines intentional action, such as prayer, ministry, and leadership, with a dedicated, purposeful lifestyle.
Transforms daily life into a mission field
Intentional with their time and gifts, using their influence to serve, teach, and uplift others
Nurturing, teaching, and active
Embark on challenging expeditions to raise awareness
Devoted to living a life for a higher purpose or God
Driven by faith
Action-Oriented: Focused on practical service
Strong and Courageous: Mentally and spiritually prepared to face challenges
Discipleship-Oriented: Mentor and support other women

2027 Luncheon

The luncheon is planned for Tuesday, April 27, 2027, 11:30 am, Green Acres Baptist Church. The nominees will be announced in January 2027.. Nominations may be sent to [email protected] or to Women In Tyler (WIT) P.O. Box 1432, Tyler, TX. 75710. Deadline is September 10.

The 2027 Co-Chairs are Maxine Caldwell, Registered Dietitian, DP Nutrition LLC and Angela Spigner Geter, Patient Rights Officer/Risk Management Specialist at Behavior Health Center.

Member Monday Spotlight | Wendy Minix

We’re proud to highlight Wendy Minix, a dedicated leader and longtime advocate for service in the Tyler community. She serves as President of the Tyler Metro Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and has been an active member of the Women in Tyler Committee since 2006.

After retiring from The University of Texas at Tyler following 28 years of service, Wendy continues to lead through mentorship, civic involvement, and community impact.
