Who are you when the roles you've built your life around begin to change?
Wife. Mom. Leader. Caregiver. Professional. Friend. The one everyone depends on.
We carry so many titles, and without realizing it, we can begin building our identity around them. But what happens when a role changes, a season ends, or something we thought would always be there suddenly isn't?
That's when a dangerous lie can creep in: ๐ช๐ถ๐๐ต๐ผ๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ถ๐, ๐๐ต๐ผ ๐ฎ๐บ ๐?
After 40 years in ministry, Angel Smythe Parisi has walked through changing seasons and changing roles of her own. And she's learned the importance of what she calls ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐น๐ฒ๐๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐๐ต, an honest, practiced posture that says, even when everything around me changes, I will hold onto the God who does not.
John 10:10 tells us the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. One of the things he would love to steal is our identity, convincing us that our worth is found in what we do rather than whose we are. But the abundant life Jesus offers isn't built on a title, role, or season. It's rooted securely in Him.
At the 2026 Deep in the Heart Women's Conference, Angel will lead the breakout session

Angel currently serves on staff at Prestonwood Baptist Church and, throughout her years in ministry, has served as a teacher, worship leader, writer, speaker, and recording artist. She'll help us look beyond the roles we carry and return to the truth of who we have been in Christ all along.
As you consider the six breakout sessions and the two you'll attend, if you're navigating a changing season, or simply need to be reminded that what you do is not who you are, Angel's session may be one you need to hear. โ๏ธ
