Thank you to our volunteers who came out this past Saturday to help with our beach cleanup and dune grass planting!

We had over 20 volunteers to help pick up over 90 pounds of garbage and contribute to planting over 10,000 dune grass plants in the area. We are so thankful for the support of this community.

If you'd like to learn about more conservation events and opportunities, please visit lnrp.org/connect and sign up for LNRP's email list.

It was a lovely morning birding on the West Twin River. We saw 43 species of birds, including orchard orioles and a purple finch. This sandhill crane is hoping we don't notice her incubating her eggs. Thanks Shelly Randerson for the photo.

Are you ready for spring paddling? As always, be careful for fallen trees on the East Twin, and watch the weather- it's windy near the Lake in spring. There are many different bird species migrating now- ducks, swans, songbirds, hawks. Bald eagles and ospreys are nesting along the river, and northern pike are spawning. If you're luck you might spot an otter family! Happy travels!
