happy Wednesday! Twin Town is less than two weeks away! for today’s performer spotlight we’re excited to feature Mumblin’ Drew’s Oldfangled Orchestrators✨

Mumblin’ Drew’s Oldfangled Orchestrators (MOO) are purveyors of novelty, squeezed through a cheesecloth filter of eccentricity and entertainment. A string band at its core…but with a reed section - fiddle, clarinet, and saxophone play the important notes, while guitar and string bass hold down the rhythm. MOO reanimates music from the first quarter of the 20th century - silly tin pan alley numbers, string band rags, and a tinge of jazz. Meet MOO with an open mind, and prepare to be zazzled and zowed! If you’ve never been to their 2nd Monday residency at the White Squirrel, it’s capital E Entertainment of the highest degree.

We’re excited to welcome MOO to Twin Town where they’ll be kicking off the Friday night festivities. Learn more and get tickets at twintownoldtime.org.

The Lake County Historical Society is pleased to announce progress is being made at the Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast. Registers are being installed this week as we continue to raise funds to help cover an estimated $40,000 to enable the Society to reopen the 3M Birthplace Museum and Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast in advance of the busy summer season. We appealed to our community and we have raised 11% of our goal of $40,000.

Every dollar raised goes to support building repairs to our historic sites, icons in the community for over a Century. By becoming a member of the Society, visiting the museum, or donating any amount to our Winter 2025 Campaign you are supporting our 100 year old mission to “Collect, preserve, & share the rich history of our region.”

GIVE TO THE MAX!

The last several years have been rough for many of us. Because of COVID-19 we stopped all programming.

Our yearly kickoff happened on Sept. 22 of this year. It was a beautiful event with a potluck, drumming and imagining the coming year overlooking the beautiful Mississippi River in St Paul. As the arts venues are beginning to open up, so are we.

A new initiative for 2023 is to provide at least 12 rhythm and drum circles to seniors through the Block Nurse Living at Home Network. Our Give to the Max, which runs the entire month of November, is to raise money to fund these events.

You can help make rhythm and drum circles a reality by:

· Making a one time donation

· Making a monthly donation which helps us throughout the year

· Sharing this email with your friends

· Liking our post on facebook and sharing it on your page, and

· Sharing our work with anyone you know who is interested if drumming.
