Companions All, on Sun, Mar 22nd, our High Priest - EC Dale Godbey, King - Charlie Saxton, Treas - Dave Wilkie & myself gathered on a conference call to approve necessary business of the chapter. Some updates include:
Inspection - was to be 4/13 in the MEM Degree. Now, our inspection will only consist of a review of our records and finances to be done by REC Ron Bokan, DDGHP on Sun, 5/17 when he will meet with myself, treas & HP. If we are still on lockdown then, copies of essential reports will be mailed to him and reviewed by phone.
Awards night: We wanted to do an awards night with a dinner (burgers & dogs) on May 18. Just don't feel certain we will be out of our homes by then. We will honor those entitled to service awards with next year's awards program. I'll share who those are in another post.
As a part of the closing of Corwin-Webb Chapter and their recent merger with Summit-Baker, Corwin-Webb purchased endowed memberships for their companions. To do this is not unusual. Baker Chapter did the same. We authorized a $500 payment to Grand Chapter for 1 Companion that we were uncertain as to him being in good standing with regards to a re-instatement from being suspended for non-payment of dues. REC Berteau was able to confirm from past Corwin-Webb minutes.
I will be setting up a virtual meeting on line via Zoom in the next couple weeks. I will communicate those plans via email. I will send an email to all I have emails for later today (4/11/20) if you do not get an email, and want to be included in the virtual meeting, email me your email at [email protected].
Lastly, to our Jewish Companions, may your Seder table fill you with appreciation and to our Christian companions may you celebrate to courage and sacrifice that instills in you the ideals of faith - especially in these uncertain times. God Bless. -- Bob Nilsen, Secretary, Summit-Baker Chapter.
