Gov. DeWine shared today that social groups should still be limited to 10 max in Phase-1 of his re-opening plan. The Grand Master's edict has us currently suspending meeting in person until May 10. May 11 was to be our May Stated Convocation inclusive of election of officers. Dues notices are ready to go out. I am waiting for an update from our Grand Master & Grand High Priest following Gov. DeWine's conference. I plan to include a newsletter with the dues notices inclusive of COVID-19 updates from our fraternity. Stay safe everyone!

Companions All, on Sun, Mar 22nd, our High Priest - EC Dale Godbey, King - Charlie Saxton, Treas - Dave Wilkie & myself gathered on a conference call to approve necessary business of the chapter. Some updates include:

Inspection - was to be 4/13 in the MEM Degree. Now, our inspection will only consist of a review of our records and finances to be done by REC Ron Bokan, DDGHP on Sun, 5/17 when he will meet with myself, treas & HP. If we are still on lockdown then, copies of essential reports will be mailed to him and reviewed by phone.

Awards night: We wanted to do an awards night with a dinner (burgers & dogs) on May 18. Just don't feel certain we will be out of our homes by then. We will honor those entitled to service awards with next year's awards program. I'll share who those are in another post.

As a part of the closing of Corwin-Webb Chapter and their recent merger with Summit-Baker, Corwin-Webb purchased endowed memberships for their companions. To do this is not unusual. Baker Chapter did the same. We authorized a $500 payment to Grand Chapter for 1 Companion that we were uncertain as to him being in good standing with regards to a re-instatement from being suspended for non-payment of dues. REC Berteau was able to confirm from past Corwin-Webb minutes.

I will be setting up a virtual meeting on line via Zoom in the next couple weeks. I will communicate those plans via email. I will send an email to all I have emails for later today (4/11/20) if you do not get an email, and want to be included in the virtual meeting, email me your email at [email protected].

Lastly, to our Jewish Companions, may your Seder table fill you with appreciation and to our Christian companions may you celebrate to courage and sacrifice that instills in you the ideals of faith - especially in these uncertain times. God Bless. -- Bob Nilsen, Secretary, Summit-Baker Chapter.

Companions all, as many of you know by now, all Masonic events including meetings, practices and events have been cancelled thru May 10 per edit by our Grand master, MWB Keith Newton. This edict applies to all blue lodges and ALL APPENDANT BODIES. My guess is that will get extended depending how the virus progresses. MEC Jeff Shaw, Grand High Priest, will be issuing a communication on Mon 3/23 that will explain the impact of the Grand Master and will address various necessary Code exceptions that will be put in place.

Please know that you can come to this page for the most recent updates impacting Masonry in general and our Chapter in particular as relevant info hits my desk. Cake care and may God comfort all.

In the life of every Master Mason, moreover, there comes a time when he realizes that he has not yet attained that goal, that he Is not yet in possession of all the rights and light of a Master Mason, as these were known and understood by his ancient brethren.
