’Twas the season of holidays throughout the town,
When the lights all looked great… until one burned out.
Stockings were hung, plans made with great care,
And someone swore, once again, that they put the ladder back there.

Cookies were baked, then somehow went missing,
Gift wrap was ripped while patience went hissing.
Cars were packed full, trunks barely would close,
And everyone promised, “We’ll leave early… I suppose.”

K9 Beny and K9 Caesar were ready and alert,
Keeping spirits high while tracking crumbs in the dirt.

Throughout it all between carols and cheer
We’re thankful for a community we’re proud to serve year after year.
Your support, your kindness, and the trust that you show
Mean more to us than you could ever know.

From all of us at the police department officers, dispatchers, and staff
We wish you a Christmas filled with warmth, joy, and plenty of laughs.
May your holidays be merry, your New Year start bright,
And may those Christmas lights work… at least one more night.

Today, we pause to honor all who have served and sacrificed for our country. The Twinsburg Police Association proudly recognizes the brave men and women, past and present, who have worn the uniform in defense of our freedoms.

We are especially proud of those within our own department who have served in the Armed Forces and continue to serve our community with the same dedication and courage. Their commitment to duty both in uniform abroad and here at home represents the very best of what it means to serve.

To all Veterans: thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your example.

Meet K9 Beny - The Newest Member of the Twinsburg Police Department!

We’re thrilled to introduce K9 Beny, who’s currently training alongside his handler, Officer Hunter, at . as part of the Fall 2025 K9 Class!

This intensive six-week training course includes building and strengthening skills in narcotics detection, tracking, article searches, patrol work, and other vital areas of police work. Beny is already proving himself to be focused, driven, and eager to serve all while showing great promise and dedication during training, thus keeping his handler on her toes every step of the way.

Upon graduation, K9 Beny will take over the duties from K9 Caesar, who has faithfully served the City of Twinsburg and surrounding communities for more than eight years.

We’re excited to see this new K9 team join the ranks and continue the proud Twinsburg tradition of excellence in service and community partnership.

Heads Up!

Starting Monday, October 6, the Ravenna–Shepard–Richmond–Broadway intersection project is moving into its next chapter. Translation: Shepard Road will be closed to southbound traffic between Broadway/Ravenna and Florence Drive.

Here’s the scoop:
• Heading south? Nope. You’ll have to detour west on Pettibone, down North Bedford, then back east on Ledge to rejoin Shepard. It’s not scenic, but it works.
• Heading north? You’re fine — just expect occasional delays while the crews make things better.
• Timeline: October 6 – November 26, 2025. Yes, all the way through pumpkin spice season and into Thanksgiving leftovers.

If you’re coming from Twinsburg, maybe skip the “let’s just wing it” approach and plan ahead — your future self stuck behind an orange barrel will thank you.

We know detours aren’t fun, but when this project’s finished, the intersection will be safer and smoother. In the meantime, treat the barrels kindly — they’re just standing there doing their job.

Ravenna–Shepard–Richmond–Broadway Intersection Improvements

Work on the Ravenna–Shepard–Richmond–Broadway Intersection Improvement project is moving to the Shepard Road side of the project on Monday, October 6. To safely complete this phase, Shepard Road will be closed to southbound traffic between Broadway/Ravenna and Florence Drive.

The official detour directs traffic from the north to go west on Pettibone, south on North Bedford, and east on Ledge Road before returning to southbound Shepard. Northbound traffic on Shepard will remain open, though occasional construction delays are possible. Detour signage is already in place, and the closure is scheduled from October 6 through November 26, 2025.

If you are coming from the east (Twinsburg), please plan ahead and consider alternate southbound options you may already be familiar with.

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve this important intersection.

Donut Miss This!

Mark your calendars — on Wednesday, October 8th, during the Twinsburg Safety Forces Open House, we’ll be bringing back the always-popular Donut Hole Eating Contest in partnership with our friends at Dunkin’ Donuts Twinsburg!

Here’s how it works:

Each contestant gets a plate of plain glazed donut holes.

First to finish them all takes home a fun prize courtesy of Dunkin’!

Contest begins at 6:30 PM sharp.

We’ll also be opening a few spots for residents to join in on the fun through a drawing held the day of the event. The rest of the competition will feature members of City staff (who may or may not be practicing already).

Bring your sweet tooth, cheer on the contestants, and see who can handle the sugar rush!

Deer and EHD

The City of Twinsburg would like to share information from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) following recent reports of deer in our area showing signs of illness or being found deceased. These reports may be connected to Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD), a naturally occurring virus that affects white-tailed deer.

The good news is EHD does not affect people, pets, or livestock. It is only a concern for deer, and it most often appears in late summer and early fall, when tiny biting flies (midges) are active.

What you may notice in deer with EHD:

Weakness, lethargy, or disorientation

Deer lingering near water sources

Swelling around the head, neck, tongue, or eyes

Labored breathing

👉 If you come across a deer that appears sick or has died under unusual circumstances, please:

Report it directly to ODNR’s Wildlife Reporting System: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/987f2ade0037405ea9ff1819aab040a8?portalUrl=https://gis.ohiodnr.gov/portal

Call ODNR at 1-800-945-3543

Notify the Twinsburg Police Department if the deer is within city limits, and we will assist as needed

By reporting, you help ODNR track EHD and protect Ohio’s deer population.
