In February 2026, Twinsburg schools and the community are celebrating Black History Month with educational activities focusing on the 2026 theme, "A Century of Black History Commemorations." Key events include student-led, daily recognitions at Samuel Bissell Elementary and, at George G. Dodge Intermediate, a pop-up performance by the Twinsburg Electric Orchestra, a fourth-grade jazz assembly, and a book giveaway.

Please be intentional about taking part in these enriching events available in our community.

It’s Black History Month! We would be remiss not to mention a bit of Ohio’s prominent Black History. Did you know that Ohio held a significant concentration of Tuskegee Airmen? Particularly after World War II, with Lockbourne Army Air Base (now Rickenbacker International Airport) in Columbus serving as a primary post-war hub for the 477th Composite Group. The area became a, if not the, central, post-war, home to the, Airmen.
