This is a photograph by the hotel photographer Walter R. Merryman. It was taken about 1908-1910. Besides the motorcade out front of the hotel, there is another surprise. Look in the upper left corner. There is a man standing on a ladder on the roof. There was a lighted sign in big letters that said "Mount Washington." He is by the letters "ON." He is probably changing a light bulb!

This menu was recently discovered in a group of items donated to the historical society. It is the luncheon menu for the first day of the International Monetary Conference at Bretton Woods. The date was July 1, 1944. It appears the kitchen ran out of two lunch meals.
