Good morning I will not be live streaming the drawing today as I have stepped down from all positions I held with the club, due to a disagreement about the in town trails being open. They were closed due to state requirements having a minimum of 6 inches of compacted snow. I am sorry I was trying to protect our trails, land owners and staying within good standing with the state. Some do not agree with following these standards.

The drawing is being held at Garneau's Garage at noon. I am sorry and good luck to all.

2/24 update.

Anyone lose an umbrella??? Found it last night and got a picture tonight. The weird stuff that show up on our trails.

Covered more ground than originally planned. The following was groomed

Cherry Mt - in pretty good shape for the snow we have the by pass is very thin especially in the two big corners. The trail between cherry Mt and Faybans is very thin with an open water bar that the groomer broke through last night it's starting to freeze back up but use caution.

Base Rd - thin down lower gets a bit better higher up watch the corners and hills. Tried to drag as much snow cover as best we could.

Jefferson notch is in good shape with ice under the snow

Mt Clinton - in good shape again with ice under the snow.

Couple of pictures from tonight's run. Little tight through that gate?

Heads up I got the date wrong on the raffle drawing it's tomorrow at noon. I have updated the event page. Sorry about the confusion

Update and plan for today (2/24):

Gates in town will be closing as we have gotten multiple reports of folks riding closed trails. Do not ride around any gates. We can re-open them if we get more snow and re-open the trails.

Grooming will be taking place over on the Faybans area. Plan is base RD, Jefferson Notch and Mt. Clinton. Lower falls will not be groomed as it's thin and we would do more harm than good at this point.

A question that has come up a few times what is in town and what's out of town. So here goes. Easiest way to know the difference is the tunnel under RT 302 or pipe as some call it. If you are on the town side you are on the in town trails. On the Faybans side your are on the out of town trails. More in depth explanation below.

Out of town: is our east trail system groomed by our Pistenbully (Red Groomer) generally. Trails include Base Rd, Jefferson Notch, Mt Clinton Rd, Cherry Mt and lower falls.

In town: Groomed by the Prinoth (Grey/silver Groomer) Goes from the pipe or tunnel under 302 by lower falls / Zealand parking lot all the way through town to Bethlehem turn around. Also the rail-bed 102/iron horse trail. Access to all town businesses and such.

Added a Map! Hopefully the map works. My art skills end with stick figures heck not going to lie I can't even draw a sick figure without a ruler. ;)

Tonight's update 2/23:

******************
In town trails remain closed. Please do not ride! There simply is not enough snow at this time to ride and not cause damage to property. I have already been asked by land owners why people have ridden on such little snow and caused possible damage. Let's respect the land owners that allow us to use their land.

This could always change as it's snowing lightly still here. Before you ride in town check the website. If they are not listed open they things didn't improve to the point where we can open. Sorry!

Now the good news!

Base Rd , Jefferson Notch, Cherry Mt, lower falls were groomed tonight! Last time we will more than likely groom lower falls till we get more snow it's thin from there to Cherry Mt. Cherry Mt by-pass is a little thin but rideable and groomed fairly flat. Cherry Mt turned out pretty good. Base Rd gets better the further up you go. That being said there is ice under the snow and I managed to get stuck coming back from Jefferson notch on the first hill after the big bridge where you go up into the woods. Use caution in that area till we can try and drag even more snow in there. Jefferson notch is flat as flat comes. It was dumping snow up there when I was coming back. My groomed trail was covered with about another inch of snow.

All the above have ice under the snow in spots so ride with caution and watch your speed.

Mt Clinton was not groomed tonight but is also open.

Questions please post here (someone might have the same question and it saves me from answering the same question a 100 times) I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Will update tomorrow.

Didn't think I would be posting this again but here we are again after dozens and dozens of messages flooding the inbox here. We do not respond to messages asking about trail conditions or grooming. All that info is readily available on here (Facebook) and the website. Both are updated as soon as we have new info.

If you have a question outside of the above feel free to message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Sorry to say our trails are at this point are closed. Along with a lot of other clubs in the area. Some clubs are lucky and able to keep part of their system open. We are not that lucky at this point. Like all clubs we have to respect/ protect our land owners. It's a privilege to have access to the land we do.

A few businesses will complain about this decision, but we have to keep the whole picture in mind when making these decisions.

We keep things open and trash people's land we can lose trails. Trash national forest or state we could lose almost all our trails. It is not something we want to do trust me I'd rather have snow and be already rolling for the night in the groomer.

Here are some photos from the Faybans area it's not pretty :(

Hope maybe????

You are running out of time!!!!

Get your raffle tickets asap! Remember this is our largest fundraising effort of the year and helps to fund all our year round projects including trail maintenance and repairs to the groomers. In low snow and extremely high fuel price years like this we need all the help we can get.

The drawing is Feb 25th.
