Our new guard dog in training!! These loyal pets know exactly what to look for! They love our kids , they regularly lay in front of the school blocks every day being a constant companion yet when darkness comes and they don’t like a sound they fiercely run as great speed barking to check it out!! We have 4 of these wonderful animals on our team and in our family!! It’s well known Malawians are intimidated by big dogs so it helps deter anyone with ill intentions!

It’s the Hunger Season in Malawi. The time between when food supplies are their lowest and crops aren’t ready to harvest yet. 4 million children and adults will have faced crisis level food shortage and suffer severe malnutrition this cycle. With 74.4% of Malawis population below the poverty level the crisis is real!! At McKallies Home we serve over 500 meals a day!! Not including the widows and outreach feeding program. These darling children are waiting as their mother works in our field, after they’ll be fed a nutritious meal.
Thanks to our supporters we’re able to plan ahead for this time of year knowing there will be more need!

Between our academics and athletics our students are high achievers! While we had several students perform very well on their 2025 12th grade government exit exams this young man standing next to Patrick scored a perfect 100% something that’s not easily done!! When I asked how he did this he told me “I studied hard by candle light at night!” WELL DONE! He wants to be a doctor, something I think he will achieve.

Our boys soccer team joined a government league for the first time this year and won the league!! They are a mighty force getting notice!!

Thank you to everyone who helped us provide a joyful Christmas celebration!! The usual outdoor activities were hampered by severe rains but the smiles and fun prevailed. New shoes, t-shirts, special treats and a wonderful meal made for a great celebration! The Lord is good to the children of McKallies Home!! ❤️❤️
