We are a small rescue that mends dogs & cats broken hearts with love and patience before we rehome them. We are foster based with no holding facility. This rescue is volunteer only, no one is paid so please be patient as we all have jobs and families too. Thank you!

Small rescues are often run out of spare bedrooms, foster homes, and pure determination—but don’t let the size fool you. Their impact runs deep in ways that don’t always make headlines.

Big shelters handle volume. Small rescues handle *individual lives*.

When a small rescue takes in an animal, it’s rarely just “pull from shelter and adopt out.” It’s medical cases that others don’t have the resources to treat. It’s behavioral cases that need time, patience, and quiet environments. It’s moms with litters, seniors who would otherwise be overlooked, and injured strays who just need someone willing to say “we’ll try.”

Every intake is personal. Every foster home matters. Every adoption is carefully matched—not rushed, not rushed out the door.

And because small rescues rely almost entirely on donations and volunteers, every dollar, every share, every application truly moves the needle. One fundraiser can mean antibiotics for a litter of kittens. One foster home opening up can mean saving a dog that had nowhere else to go. One adoption can free up space for the next life waiting.

The impact isn’t measured in size. It’s measured in outcomes:
A dog who learns people can be safe again.
A cat who survives because someone said yes.
A family that finds the exact right fit because time was taken to get it right.

Small rescues don’t save *some* animals. They save *the ones they can reach*—and they do it with heart, grit, and community behind them.

If you’ve ever supported a small rescue, fostered, adopted, donated, or even shared a post—you’ve been part of that impact too.

🐾 The Truth About Dog Parks: They’re Not Right for Every Dog 🐾

Dog parks can be a great place for some dogs — but they are not a safe or positive experience for every dog.

While they look fun and social on the surface, many dogs experience stress, overwhelm, or even danger in off-leash group settings.

⚠️ Risks of dog parks include:
🐾 Overstimulated or fearful dogs being overwhelmed by rough play
🐾 Poorly socialized dogs practicing bad habits instead of learning
🐾 Unsupervised or inattentive owners
🐾 Dogs who don’t respect boundaries escalating conflicts
🐾 Injuries from rough play or size mismatches
🐾 Disease exposure from shared spaces
🐾 Leash reactivity or behavioral regression after bad experiences

Not all dogs enjoy group play — and that’s okay.

Some dogs are:
🐶 “Social” but only with certain dogs
🐶 More comfortable in one-on-one play
🐶 Happy with parallel walks instead of direct interaction
🐶 Simply not dog-park dogs

A dog that doesn’t thrive at a dog park is not “bad” or “aggressive” — they may just be communicating discomfort or stress in a chaotic environment.

Better alternatives can include:
✔️ Structured walks
✔️ Playdates with known, compatible dogs
✔️ Sniff walks and enrichment activities
✔️ Training-based bonding time with their person

The best socialization is calm, controlled, and safe — not forced or overwhelming.

We want dogs to have positive experiences that build confidence, not anxiety. ❤️🐶

Pretty sad when they try to scam rescues that struggle as it is… don’t fall for these scams. 😏

⚠️ Common Household Items That Are Dangerous to Pets ⚠️

Many everyday items we barely think about can be extremely dangerous — and sometimes deadly — for dogs and cats.

Some common hazards include:

🚫 Foods
🐾 Chocolate
🐾 Grapes & raisins
🐾 Onions & garlic
🐾 Xylitol (found in sugar-free gum, candy, peanut butter, and more)
🐾 Alcohol
🐾 Caffeine

🚫 Household Products
🐾 Cleaning chemicals
🐾 Essential oils
🐾 Laundry pods
🐾 Antifreeze
🐾 Rodent poison
🐾 Fertilizers and pesticides

🚫 Human Medications
🐾 Ibuprofen
🐾 Acetaminophen
🐾 ADHD medications
🐾 Sleep aids
🐾 Vitamins and supplements

🚫 Other Dangerous Items
🐾 String, ribbon, hair ties, and floss
🐾 Batteries
🐾 Small toys and socks
🐾 Lilies (highly toxic to cats)
🐾 Candles and hot wax warmers
🐾 Ma*****na products and edibles

Pets are naturally curious and often explore with their mouths. Something harmless to humans can become an emergency for them very quickly.

A few simple precautions can save lives:
✔️ Store chemicals and medications securely
✔️ Keep toxic foods out of reach
✔️ Supervise pets with chewable objects
✔️ Research plants before bringing them home
✔️ Contact a vet immediately if you suspect ingestion

Emergency vet visits are expensive and stressful — prevention is always easier than treatment.

Please help keep your pets safe by pet-proofing your home. ❤️🐶🐱

🚨 **CLOSED TO INTAKES**🚨

We are currently closed to intakes due to a critical lack of foster homes and space. Each day, we must turn away 7 - 10 requests for cats and 3 - 5 requests for dogs, some of which include litters (puppy & kitten).

To make room for more animals in need, we urgently need your help with adoptions.

If you're in the Magic Valley and interested in fostering, please visit our website to fill out a foster application.

Your support is essential in helping us continue our mission.

Thank you for your understanding!
