Today we celebrate Indigenous Peoples' Day 🧡

Today we celebrate the Newenee, the Shoshone, Bannock, and Paiute peoples whose homelands include the Snake River Canyon and the land Twin Falls sits on. The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes are the original stewards of this region, and their descendants are still here, still leading, and still very much part of our community.

This is some beautiful country we live in the canyon, the river, the whole valley. Shoshonean communities thrived here for generations on long before anyone drew borders on a map.

So today, take a minute to appreciate the land beneath your feet and the people who cared for it first. We're proud to stand with Indigenous communities here and everywhere.

Bi folks have been part of Southern Idaho's LGBTQ+ community from the very beginning, yet they often face erasure from both straight and gay/lesbian spaces. Let's shine a light on bi identities today and every day. Whether you identify as bisexual, pansexual, q***r, or fluid, you are seen, celebrated, and valued here.

Let's keep building an inclusive community for all!

Today we recognize the LGBTQ+ elders who have lived with, fought against, and survived the AIDS epidemic. Their resilience shaped our community, and their wisdom guides us forward.

Let’s honor their stories by showing up for our LQBTQ+ elder community, listening to their experiences, advocating for inclusive healthcare, and ensuring they never face aging in isolation.

Gratitude and solidarity to all the elders carrying our history. 💜🏳️‍🌈

Find Your Flock starts at 10 a.m. on the lawn north of the Taylor Building. Stop by to connect with 15–20 campus and community organizations, learn about mental health resources, grab some food, and see what support is available at CSI and in our community.

We’re excited to share that our beloved “Handle With Care” program has transitioned to a new chapter under Culture for Change! We are incredibly proud to see this vital initiative continue, facilitated by two of our own lovely former board members, Taylor and Jenna.

This program has always held a special place in our hearts, and we have nothing but gratitude and support for all that Taylor and Jenna are doing to uplift our LGBTQIA+ and ally communities. On August 31, our community lost two beloved members, Vincent Anthony Siqueiros and Cameron Davis Capara, in Tucson, Arizona. This tragedy has shaken us deeply, and we pause to honor their lives and the joy they brought to those around them.

Our hearts are with Vincent and Cameron, their families, friends, and chosen family during this unimaginable loss. We also grieve alongside the Tucson community, standing with everyone who found refuge, friendship, and belonging at Venture N. These spaces matter profoundly; they are where people feel seen and safe.

We extend our deepest condolences and solidarity to all affected. In honoring Vincent and Cameron, we reaffirm our commitment to celebrating the beauty, resilience, and love that define our LGBTQIA+ community.
