Christmas in the Nighttime Sky, was founded in 1991 in Twin Falls, Idaho by local business owners Dave & Sherry Wright.

Since its establishment it has steadily grown and is now an independent nonprofit organization.

Today we’re thankful for all the hardworking people who make the Magic Valley such a great place to call home.

We hope you’re able to slow down, spend some time with family and friends, and enjoy the holiday. And while Christmas may still be a few months away, our elves are already hard at work!

For 35 years, Christmas in the Nighttime Sky has brought our community together to kick off the Christmas season. Today, we're asking for your help to ensure that tradition continues.

The truth is simple: without new volunteers stepping into leadership roles, this year's event—and the future of Christmas in the Nighttime Sky—is in jeopardy.

As the event has grown over the years, the number of people planning and organizing it has not. The same dedicated volunteers have carried this tradition for decades, but we have reached a point where we can no longer do it alone.

To move forward, we urgently need:

At least 3 new Board Members
At least 5 Committee Members
Numerous day-of-event volunteers
Additional community sponsors

This isn't a request for "someday." Decisions about this year's event need to be made now. If we cannot build a committed team in the coming days, we will have to make the difficult decision that the 35th Annual Christmas in the Nighttime Sky cannot move forward.

If you've ever said, "I'd hate to see this event go away," this is your opportunity to help ensure it doesn't.

If you have the time, passion, and commitment to help carry this tradition forward—not just for this year, but for years to come—we need to hear from you.

The North Pole may be known for Christmas, but tonight even Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves are taking a moment to celebrate the freedoms we are so fortunate to enjoy.

As the sky fills with fireworks, may your hearts be filled with gratitude—for the brave men and women who have protected our nation, for the blessings of family and friends, and for the communities that make this country so special.

Wishing you a safe, joyful, and memorable Fourth of July filled with laughter, patriotism, and a little bit of magic under the fireworks. ❤️🤍💙✨

Today, we celebrate the dads, grandpas, stepdads, father figures, mentors, coaches, and everyday heroes who teach, guide, encourage, and inspire.

The ones who show us how to build, create, care for others, solve problems, tell stories, and believe in something bigger than ourselves. ✨

After all, even at the North Pole, there’s a pretty special father figure helping the next generation learn the ropes... Father Christmas himself. 😉

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave everything for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Santa flies the American flag proudly in gratitude for the courage, sacrifice, and service of those who made this country what it is today.
