TWENTYNINE PALMS -The City of Twentynine Palms awarded a grant to Reach Out Morongo Basin as a Food Recovery Organization to collect and distribute surplus food goods. The Neighbors Helping Neighbors organization were the recipient of a new commercial freezer and refrigerator and delivery day was Wednesday March 25, 2026. The City of Twentynine Palms Public Works department got them unloaded and moved into the Twentynine Palms Senior Center building and installed them.
Reach Out Morongo Basin executive director, Robin Schlosser said, "We want to extend a huge ‘Thank You’ to the City of Twentynine Palms for the grant for these units. Elijah Marshall was instrumental in writing the grant that benefited several organizations and we want to thank him and the City Council for helping make this a reality. We would also like to thank Craig Stacey and his crew at the public works department for the hard work installing them. This will help so many people and we appreciate you all!'
