The Dale Basin Well Owners Association had their year end meeting on Sunday, December 7, and they elected a few new people to the board. Joe Chaplain is replacing Chancy Chambers as President; Chancey Chambers is replacing Joe Chaplain as Vice President. Georgene Shelton is taking over for Beth Sheffield as secretary; and Elizabeth Wheeler is taking Ted Meyers’ position as director, and I’m staying put as a director. Chancy, Beth, and Ted all did a stellar job. Joe, Georgene, and Elizabeth are great additions to the Board.
The DBWOA received a certificate of recognition from the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. Friends of Wonder Valley bought a cake for Jim Dunham’s birthday, which everyone enjoyed.

MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT: DBWOA General Meeting Sunday, August 10 at 1:00 pm, Wonder Valley Community Center

The Dale Basin Well Owners Association will host a General Meeting on Sunday, August 10 at 1:00 pm at the Wonder Valley Community Center, 80525 1/2 Amboy Road, Wonder Valley, CA.

In this meeting we’ll learn about upcoming openings on the board in preparation for the annual board elections on December 7th. Members are invited to consider running for one of these positions. The job descriptions are included in our bylaws (DBWOA-bylaws). Please chat with any of the current board members to find out more information, or email the secretary at [email protected].

We’ll also receive an update from our Treasurer on our non-profit status and our current financial health.

And, we’ll hear a talk titled, "Well Pump Disaster! - What can be done to retrieve a detached well pump?"
Sometimes our well pump can become detached from the discharge pipe and get stuck down in our well, or the electrical cable can fall and become wedged down the pipe. Oh no!!

Fortunately, there are some strategies that can help. Chancey Chambers will be giving a talk about these scenarios, and some possible ways to remedy these disasters.

I have a feeling that I will appreciate our well professionals even more after this talk!

ANNOUNCING THE DBWOA’s LOGO PROJECT!

The Dale Basin Well Owner’s Association would like to invite you to create a logo to represent the Dale Basin Well Owner’s Association.

All logos that are submitted will be presented to the Board, and the top 3 favorite designs will be selected by the Board for presentation to the membership at the next General Meeting. Members will then have the opportunity to vote on their favorite design, which will be adopted as the logo to represent us.

While there will be no financial compensation to the artist, you will be credited in the logo, so please be sure to sign your work.

All designs to be submitted to [email protected] not later than August 15, 2024, for presentation to membership in the September 8th meeting.

The voting results of the winning logo will be announced via newsletter, so please be sure that we have your current email address. We will also post to our website.

We are excited, and looking forward to seeing your logo ideas!
